And If Harm were the only factor to consider then not just 'drinking and driving' but just Driving would be banned or at least FAR more regulated than it is.
The list is long. If you were to put together a list of man made objects that kill, Autos, booze and cigarettes would be among the top 5, probably the top 3.

And we can't even start to add Abortion numbers can we?
we can't even get people to the table on the "harm" aspect there.
but millions are killed ...and body parts sold no less.

but real dead bodies from all these other sources don't matter, the POTENTIAL HARM, the FEAR, of guns is admittedly what's driving the legislation.
at least from the rank and files perspective.

From the professional politicians, the authoritarian, gov't nanny, gov't papa perspective's taking guns from the populous is always a goal.

I call anybody who is for abortion on demand and is against firearms a hypocrite. If you fit the mold and want to rebut me, don't bother. It is better that you keep it to yourself and slink around unnoticed.

Now, back to the evil knife.

No. Hypocrites certainly don't care if anybody calls them out. They act lackadaisical, but inside, they really cannot shut up without resorting to a battle of wits. In that type of battle, I do not fight with unarmed imbeciles.

What the , there are more KNIFES than guns in every household in America..
More knives are bought each year than guns... The difference is in America we follow what we grew up learning.

Cowboys & Indians, Robbers & Cops Star Wars, Soldiers etc., Shoot em ups.

So as young adults and beyond we use a gun if possible to create harm..

You are right. We use guns because we perceive them as more deadly. Knives are certainly more prevalent.
