Chrysler goes electric
Quote:
Chrysler LLC has announced that it will produce electric models for its Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler nameplates by 2010.
Chrysler states its electric drive technology can be applied to front-, rear- and four-wheel drive platforms and that it has a "production-intent" electric vehicle for each of its brands.
The manufacturer revealed prototypes of the Dodge EV, Jeep EV and Chrysler EV when making its announcement.
The proposed electric vehicles cover a broad range. The Dodge EV is a two-seater rear-wheel drive sports car with an electric motor generating 200 kW and 650 Nm allowing it a 0 - 100 km/h sprint time of under five seconds and a top speed of around 190 km/h.
