One that would help us quit polluting and be more energy efficient than we are.

EXACTLY correct Don Corleone...

The DID draw up guidelines..but they ALSO did was do it in a way that undermined the intent of the treaty...

IF...IF IF IF IF IF...the treaty held ALL countries to the same standards, the US probably would've signed it in a minute...

But instead of being fair across the board, the creators of the treaty made India and China exceptions to their rules...Which are the two biggest US competitors...

Did you know the top 16 cities in the world when it comes to pollution are all in China?...Of course, the logical question would be, "Then why the f*** would they get an exemption?????"...

Which is why the US didn't signed it...It's like building a house and asking Andre the Giant to sign a form saying "All of the doors should be 6 1/2 feet in height."...

Let me put it another way. Why is there an expensive "Accord". And why make up that silly name anyway. Why not just call it something people can more readily latch onto with their minds like "treaty to stop polluting".
I don't even think a treaty is the best move right now.
Start sweeping around our own door first. Many peoples of the world love to emulate Americans.

People who claim to care about pollution and saving energy should put their sweat and fund raising abilities to work on this.
Like do commercials and billboards about using this product instead of that product because the packaging is less harmful to the environment. Go before congress to introduce needed legislation to educate the consumer as some of the kids are being educated about the environmental costs of growing one kind of food as opposed to another kind that takes more land and waste to produce.
Movie stars or persons with equivalent cash could walk into MIT and announce they will award a monetary prize to the group or individual student who designs a mode of logical transportation that can fit into the already existing infrastructure, but isn't powered by oil. Same thing with other inventions to keep our lifestyle intact, but get us off oil.
Think tanks and high level meetings are O.K., but money and opportunity are what talks along with example set by your own efforts.

I'm not beyond admitting when I post a little tipsy. Please accept my sincerest apologies.QUOTE]

Thank You, and I will. I have sometimes done the same, and like you had to admit I was wrong which a man should be able to and not lose face.

Again thank you.

But I shall not go on any fishing boat with you for a while... looooool
