Default Glitch

At 2:30AM (Philly time)...I couldn't connect to PW....I went to my host's site and tried to reboot..I got the message "can't reboot"...I went to their ChatSupport...While talking with their helpdesk operator, PW came back up...I looked at my server and it said it rebooted at 2:33...I don't know if my reboot actually worked or the server was rebooting, already, when I was trying...In either case, it came back up...I posted a couple of things in the shoutbox and went to sleep...

When I woke up, I see my two shoutbox posts are gone and a couple people talking about a glitch...I went back to my host site and checked the server...It now says it was rebooted at 3:06(????)...

It appears the glitch is that a post is created, and then gets created a couple of more times...I don't know why...I also have an email from 4:43AM saying my DrWeb updater couldn't connect...

Related or unrelated, my host took my automatic payment for the site at 5:24AM...We are renewed...

I don't want to do anything when I have have work soon (don't want something worse to happen and I won't have time), but I'll reboot and investigate further when I get home tonight...

Last night (or maybe early this morning) I saw an identical post here repeated around four times in a row, so I reported it. Now I'm guessing that may have been part of the glitch.

Not much help...and thanks for warning me on the "maintenance"...

I don't think we've had multiple posts since this morning (crossing fingers)...

Quote:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for contacting support.

There was some essential system maintenance on the night of July 27/28, and this required affected servers to be restarted. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

However, the multiple posts described would not typically be the result of a system or server-side problem, and is more likely to be the result of an application issue, or perhaps even a user repeatedly clicking 'Post'.

This is an unmanaged server, and our support covers only hardware, external network connectivity, etc. Issues with the services and applications running on it, such as this would generally be outside the scope of support, and are your responsibility to troubleshoot and resolve. We would need evidence pointing specifically to a hardware or network problem, in order to investigate this.

Thank You,
Jim M.

The issues I noticed first this morning were 3 posts from Mikeyy, repeating what seemed like-- well... I thought his posts weren't going up for him.

Then AZRW made a post in the thread mentioned in the shoutbox.
I kept clicking on it as the newest post and there was nothing there.

Then I bumped that thread with "testing" and it was there.
Prior to that AZ's post was showing at a specific time, but it wasn't viewable until much later.

Make sense?

Yesterday morning, after 9am, AZ made a post in this thread.

http://www.politicalwrinkles.com/new...ervice-11.html

No matter how many times I clicked on it, it wouldn't come up.
It kept going back to the previous post from GetAClue.
Eventually, it was there- but many minutes later.
