Default Quantserve

quantserve.com spyware - Google Search

Why is quantserve one of the servers used on this message board? Is this a different quantserve then the spyware related one I read about? I've had it blocked with noscript for quite a while--if you can give me some proof that it's not spyware related, I'll unblock it.

I'd keep it blocked until I get some info...

I've never heard of quantserve...

This NoScript tool has kept spyware off my machine for almost 2 years now (I still use Spybot to check, but it always comes up clean since I started using NoScript and only unblock the sites I trust). Before I used it, I would have at least 5 spyware titles on my machine a week.

Since you don't know where it came from, I would seriously consider getting it removed. It IS possible that your site could have been hacked and has been for quite some time.

About a year and half ago, several webpages of mine got hacked because I didn't have a secure enough of a password for the FTP server, and they injected code for spyware in EVERY html page I had in the main folder/directory--I had to remove the bad code from them all by hand.

Quantcast appears to make use of spyware applications such as Twitbin to gather their web traffic data.

Here is where you have it on your page:

Code:
<!-- Start Quantcast tag -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://edge.quantserve.com/quant.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
_qacct="p-78-ydC8X_yiaA";quantserve();</script>

<noscript>
<a href="http://www.quantcast.com/p-78-ydC8X_yiaA" target="_blank"><img src="http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel/p-78-ydC8X_yiaA.gif" style="display: none" border="0" height="1" width="1" alt="Quantcast"/></a></noscript>
<!-- End Quantcast tag -->

I'll look at my Quant code and see it's relevance...if none, i'll drop it...

I DO notice your NoScript also asks about ekstreme...

That is not an issue...I use ekstreme as part of the "Social Bookmark this page", and that works well...

Absolutely--that's why I never mentioned it

Just Quantserve is my concern.

And it's your concern no longer...

It's been removed...

When I first started this forum, I added multiple sites that "said" they would help me link my site out to the masses...I just indiscriminantly added a bunch of them...the bottom of the pages looked like a mess with all of the link exchanges...

Of course, if it actually helped, I'd leave it this way...But I haven't seen much of a difference, so I got rid of them...

Apparently, Quantserve was one I missed...

The only one I still see is the link "Search Engine Optimization and SEO Tools"...

This is legitimate...

Last year, my company sent me on a training expedition and this is the teacher's site which is very informative for techies...
