Shouldn't the poll section should be for polls not stories about polls? The description underneath the Poll subforum section states "Vote on topics from culture to politics to just about anything.", It does not state "news articles talking about polls".So shouldn't news stories about polls go into some other subforum?

I agree completely. The section should be for member-created polls.

Is that like when I accidentally walk into the building with a t-shirt, shorts and sandals while listening to Miles Davis on my iPod and halfway through the sermon realize I am at church?

Well I would consider the first couple of times an "accident", but since you do this weekly, I'm starting to sense a pattern...

I like it that the mods here don't freak out about things like that, which are not that big a deal in the long run.

Unless of course you happen to like organization, rational thought, reason, and just a bit of cohesion. And then it becomes problematic.

It's problematic ONLY when it happens over and over again...

First time I've head someone take issue with a non-member poll in the Polls section...I would imagine it's probably happened a time or two before and we either saw it and moved it, or was reported by another member instead of created a new thread in the Feedback section...But in almost 5 years, the term "problematic" would be far from reality...

I understand your swipe...The need is just irresistible...

The whole premise was that it was occurring frequently.... o.O And if it was, it would be problematic for those reason. Don't take it straight to the butt or as a personal shot. Jesus...

I have asked several times for ONE section where intellectual and rational debate can take place, void of the usual off-topic posts, distraction, personal attacks, shooting the messenger, etc...

I have also made many recommendations to improve the tone and level of debate, all to no avail.

I have simply come to the conclusion this is as good as it is going to get. If you want to debate here, you must dive head-first into the septic tank and avoid the feces being slung around as best you can and pray one person in the thread will engage in a logical discussion before being pelted in the face with manure by those only interested in trolling and regurgitating bias rhetoric ad nausea.

Thread Topic - Democrat makes a polarizing comment.
Inevitable Response By Democrat Poster- Not this sh*t again.
Level Of Intellectual Debate - 0

Thread Topic - Republican caught in a lie.
Inevitable Response By Republican Poster - Clinton and Carter did it too!
Level Of Intellectual Debate - 0

Thread Topic - Democrat caught on a hot mic saying something embarrassing.
Inevitable Response By Democrat Poster - Fox News? That's your source? Hahaha!
Level Of Intellectual Debate - 0

Thread Topic - Republican caught in an affair.
Inevitable Response By Republican Poster - Must be a slow news day. That's all you got? You're a moron.
Level Of Intellectual Debate - 0

Virtually every thread has at least one version of the above in it. Imagine having to read crap like that over and over and over and over and over and over again. Eventually it gets old and makes you want to gouge your eyes out with a hot spoon. I have heard better arguments from my Scarlet Macaw than most comments I read here.

No disrespect to cnredd or anyone here. I have just simply about had my fill with the nonsense and refusal to address the issues. Eventually enough is enough.

This is my last recommendation for this site. I have come to believe comments and opinions to better the forum are not welcome and are not given a nanosecond of thought. I am done taking the time to make helpful requests only to have each one ignored. Waste of time.

All that said, this is one of the better forums on the web. It just saddens me that it has tons of potential but is satisfied with status quo and not interested in logical, intellectual or common sense debate.

Apologize for ranting, but someone had to say it. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. I understand a lot of people would rather keep things like the Wild West because without going off-topic, distractions, shooting the messenger and personal attacks, they would have nothing to say.

All right, I am going to spark one up and love everyone again in about five minutes.
