Default A wish for the forum software...

I wish that there was a way to provide a set of links to threads that members deem to be related to a particular thread. We've got about 4-5 threads about Chick-Fil-A going and it would be nice to be able to see all those threads in one place. The level of interconnectedness would be pretty stinking cool to able to see. One of the CFA threads ended up being pretty much about homosexual marriage, so that thread could be connected to threads about homosexual marriage. If there was a thread about homosexual marriage that was focused on the Presidential election, that thread could be connected to all the threads on the election.
Chick-Fil-A => Homosexual marriage
Homosexual marriage => Election
Election => Voter registration

The number of connections and how things are related would be very interesting.

You're asking software to play "6 degrees to Kevin Bacon"...Using that, ALL threads are related in you put the right angle on it...

YEP!! That's why it would be so cool. Think of it as Facebook for ideas. It's a model of how ideas are interrelated. Mapping the connections would make a great research project for some college sociology student. Maybe you can get a college to pay for the site and even promote it to increase the number of members/variables.

Or I can just say the forum is pro-global warming and I'll be immediately considered for a government grant...

I have an idea also. Just leave the forum the way it is. It keeps people on their toes.

This is by far the best forum for liberals and conservatives and fence sitters to get together and discuss or debate.

And that is but one topic which I agree with you on. When something seems so important people rush to post it without even looking if there is a thread on it.

That is why I do a search and post a lot of my stuff in some elses thread. If I did it like others my number of started threads would be about 1/4 higher.

But thats not the reason I post a thing. Look at every thread I have which doesn't count except one time.

And like you FS it bothers me a lot. All I see is a thrist for beating others to a larger count, nothing more.

And this time I blame not only the members but the mods to. And I know each of them are kept busy. But a few are posting in them all.
