That's ok, as I know it is a feature of Xenforo but obviously this board has a different set-up.

I have it PW auto-refresh, so it is ok really. This Google Chrome auto-refresh is good but I need to remember to have two windows open, one for replying and one for the main index page auto-refresh, or I lose what I am typing in a reply when it refreshes.

I do that on a regular basis, 2 browser. But I got Google Chrome for PhotoBucket and really don't use it very much. So what is this auto refresh your talking about?

Can you give me any other hints on why G.C. might be better than IE 9?

Check it out!...

I'm still deciding whether to keep it where it is (below the Shoutbox) or placing it above the Shoutbox...
Great idea cnredd.

It is above the shout box on my IE 9. And it wasn't there the last time I used my Google Chrome here.

I like it where it is. As it reminds me I am not the 1st top poster. But I am sure the guests readers like new things so I would stay with it.

And keep your mind churning for new ideas...

I was finding pages were slow to load, and I think it may have been Spencer on here that mentioned Google Chrome rather than IE. Pages are still slow to load but I prefer Google Chrome and am used to it now.

Chrome also automatically highlights spelling mistakes, although many words spelt the UK way and the US way are different so I have to ignore those.

Auto refresh is good and I just came across it last week. If and when you decide to switch to Chrome (although of course you could try using it as well as IE) let me know and I will explain how to set auto-refresh up. It is very simple.

You can set it for various time intervals choosing from several seconds to several minutes. However if replying to a message you will lose your text you have typed in the auto-refresh if it refreshes whilst you are typing so you can halt the auto-refresh or use another window for PW that has the auto-refresh halted.

I have used it a little but really prefer my IE 9 and I have the ieSpell checker, which is a small yet very good item. I posted about it seveal times.

I think in the Tech & Software topic area. I will check if you want to read about it.

And with IE which I have used sense 1999 when I first started using the great WWW. So I am use to it and it works with Photobucket now that they told me the right thing to do. The first tech guy blamed IE 9 for my troubles. But it was the zoom settings.

Which the second tech guy from Photobucket set me right with. And that is for uploading only. See I have my zoom set at 150 for my old age

To upload I need to reset it to 125 or 100 and it works just great. And that is for Google Chrome to. So I might just delete it. Because it is just another big file which takes time to scan when I log off.
