Default Happy 4th to all

Not sure if this is the correct place to put this , if not please move it to the correct forum.

Just wanted to Wish all ( specifically the Americans) a Happy 4th of July ... And that goes to my new Republican /Conservative friends as well. We may all have different views and ideologies about how the country should be but we all have one thing in common and that is being Americans. So celebrate the Birth of our great nation as will I and turn up a cold one to all those who have paid the ultimate price in defense of our way of life...

Until the 5th.....

All I can say is we had a great time, eating talking while waiting for some darkness.

And while we were doing the above watching all of the western part of the cities neighborhoods fire works lighting the skyline from Bob's & Mirka's country home.
A great site till we set off my fireworks. It was so awesome I got in only the last of it with my camera.

And Mirka packed a lot of food for me to take home.

And how went your regular day as I doubt England celebrates our winning the 1st., real International War...... Does it?

Many here aren't taught that besides France, Spain was involved by both marriage and the need to keep England out of the Caribbean, or then the slave routes to first the Sugar Plantations in the Caribbean.

Which later truned out that England did get involved as did some of America's lose ship Captains to do the runs between the coast of Africa at one or more of the well known slave stops. Then the race home to the south.

While true seamen with decent Captains would leave England and head for the Caribbean for the sugar and then head to American's posts with exports already ordered, and drop the sugar along the way for tobbaco & rum to bring back to England.
While other ships were sent back and forth from Eangland to the Caribbean and back to Eangland with their loads of sugar and right back to England and some went for trade in the northern part of now Europe. The rest went into mking several drinks for the masses and some toward the elite who mostly drank wine or world class others drinks being discovered.

I think it was called the Rum Runs, among many others.

a simple "Glad it went well" becomes a history lesson.

Then the race back to the Carribbean and into the south before taking sugar northward.

My day was good, but just like any other although my favourite radio station (listen online to BBC Radio 2 - link below) played a lot of US music.

Click the orange listen button on the right on the link, then with the popup click the play arrow and you can listen online. It may be best to get the schedule of programmes. There are many that many not appeal. However from 6.30 a.m. UK time to 5.00 p.m. UK time it is great to listen to.
