There are times when members start a thread with a topic that's already being discussed and we can merge those threads together...
If you notice a second thread introduced, there is no need to send the admin (me) a personal message...That works (especially when I'm here and can get to it quickly), but there's an easier way...
Use the report button (

) that's at the top right of every post...
When you use the report button (for merging and any other reason), a message gets sent to the whole Mod Team...Not just me...
And since all Moderators have the ability to merge threads, someone else can jump in an make the merge when I'm not online...
The report button can also be used for things like correcting a thread title (both grammatically and to the actual article title), deleting a duplicate post, or moving a thread to a different sub-forum...All Mods can make these changes, so you don't need to wait on me all of the time...
This also helps the Mod Team out for two major reasons...
1) These changes are logged and seen by the whole staff...This shows that there is nothing nafarious going on in the background and nothing is being changed for personal reasons...
2) Mods don't spend their day looking for title errors or things to merge...Yeah, we notice them most of the time, but some slip by (So if you notice we changed one thread title to the article title but not another, it's not because of politics...we just didn't notice)...
This is where the report button comes in handy...Moderators are members, too, and, when looking at a thread, sometimes we immediately start pondering the topic, just like everyone else, instead of always being in "Moderator Mode" looking see if connections need to be made...
So if you notice something we missed (or you just caught it before we did), don't be hesitant to use the report button and fill us in...
