Makes too many posts! It's impossible to read the newly discussed threads because the whole "new threads" link is filled with The Wrinkler's news stories.

I wonder if I could make them exempt from members' "New Threads" link...

I'll look into it...

Good idea. I feel overwhelmed by all the new posts and miss just being able to see what other posters are talking about today.

I did some reasearch and found the code to do it...Made the change...

When clicking "New Posts" in the navigation bar at the top of the page, no threads from the "News Stories" forum should be included...

I must confess that I'm no fan of the Wrinkler,I see the good points but the negatives outweigh them. Too many robotic posts to wade through, the site has lost that personal feel to it.I like that "personal" touch that members have when posting a news thread. The wrinkler does add posts and that's good but I believe it also discourages member commentary partly because of the sea of posts they must wade through.True..members can still post a news thread but it soon gets lost in wrinkler traffic!

Think putting it at the bottom of the forum instead of front row would help?

We could try that,I don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water. Maybe we could take a few wrinkles out of the wrinkler!

Yes...

Is there a way to slow it down?
Instead of posting everything all the time maybe have some sort of limit per hour...?...don't know if it's possible...just wondering...

Or...only posting every-so-often...?...

I slowed it down...It'll check for stories every 6 hours instead of every 30 minutes...

I would like to than THE WRINKLER for all the work he has been doing as I found many news stories (in a short concise form) that caught my attention. However I agree that it needs it's own section for when I want it instead of clogging up new posts.
