Maher used to be funny but now he's just a political commentator. What a shame. It's still interesting to watch him because he's got some decent writers and it's always good to watch leftists spew their sour grapes...

Does anyone actually listen to anything Bill Maher says? I mean, of those of us with the standard 46 chromosomes and not 47?

I always thought that the Left liked unconvential thinking. Gov. Palin's about as unconvential as they come. She's a working mother married to a stay-at-home father. She's fought against corporate/gov't corruption. She's one of the few people in the higher levels of political positions that can back up "speak truth to power" with action. In a lot of ways, shes' a liberal's dream candidate, yet fo rsome reason, all of these get ignored in the miasma of party politics.

He's kinda funny, but he also pisses me off pretty routinely.
The other night they were talking about "war", and then Bill tried to push the conversation towards saying that ANY form of war (including Afghanistan/al Qaeda) is flawed and doomed to fail.

His guests didn't agree. The audience was surprisingly silent (neither approving or disapproving of Bill's statements...)
I thought his comment was idiotic, naive, and thoroughly absurd. Quite frankly, maybe he should shift gears and start lecturing the muslim extremists on how violence will not solve the problem...

He's very far left, and I find it amusing that he and Coulter get along so well ...

fought against corporate / gov't corruption??? Gee. I didn't realize that was a "liberal" stance.
So are Republicans "for" corruption?

It's her ISSUE stance that cause "liberals" to disagree.
You remember issues, right? I mean, some Republicans don't like to talk about them in favor of mindlessly bashing Obama, but I thought that the ISSUES were what separated Republican from Democrat...

Pretending that liberals should like her based on the menial reasons you provide, while ignoring the CORE issues which make her a "Republican", is ridiculous.

She would be my dream candidate if all that were true. But some of her ruthless personality is coming to light. And I don't like the way it's looking. Need to know more.

I don't understand this "ruthless personality" bologna that the media is selling you people. If you just take a moment to look at her RECORD you see that she is very much on the side of the people.

Alright. Post some link to her record. I will be glad to read it. I don't get to watch (actually that's not true I wouldn't watch even if I was home) much TV except CSpan when we are not on the road. I look up what I can on the internet and occasionally pass a TV in a truck stop that usually has FOX news on.
When I do get an e-mail or see a claim on the web, I try to look up the subject in a reputable paper or other source. Also I check stuff on Snopes and I read a lot of news letters and chat on other sites unrelated in their main intent to politics.
I did the same thing with Obama and all the stuff put out there on him.
I am a thinking concerned voter and I am an Independent. Plus I've lived long enough to know I better check things out for myself after I view the add campaign.

P.S. Thank you for spelling the word bologna correctly. Does my heart good (pet peeve ).

You are reading too much in to this. I am not picking on her or her kids or their names. I think they chose cool names. It was just funny coming off the lips when you read their names in succession. Thats all.

I didn't say anything even remotely resembling that. I said that Liberals have always worshipped the people who fought against corporate interests, especially when they involve the gov't's involvement.

"Menial reasons"???? Core values for liberals everywhere just suddenly became "menial reasons"??? If Sarah Palin was a Dem., you'd be falling all over yourself to kiss her feet because of her efforts at fighting corporate/Gov't corruption. But because she's a Conservative, you're all in a tizzy about her. I beleive that it's because the loony left and the Dem. leaders see that she could and should pull a lot of swing voters becuase of the values she SHARES with liberals - those of fighting against "The Establishment", that of "Speaking Truth To Power". These are what strike fear into the hearts of the loony left and the Dem. leadership, not her conservative creds, but those that should resonate with liberals. I honestly think that she scares the Dem. leadership very badly because of this.
