Default Mad Men

Well ... I DVR'd last night's episode and haven't had a chance to watch yet, but the series 'Mad Men' was absolutely incredible last year and promises to be a can't miss for me again this year.

Did anyone else watch this last year and/or will be watching this year? I highly recommend it. Here's a great opinion article on it:

'Mad Men': Smart, subtle character study

I can't watch it. But my wife is a fan. To me its a soap opera. And I don't find all the sex all that entertaining. And if the lead character ever smiled his face would likely crack and fall off. Stepford wives meets entourage meets bewithched. And screw screw screw.

But thats just me.

Well, I don't watch soap operas but if they're half as intellectual as Mad Men and have actors anywhere near as good perhaps I should reconsider. The show is a case study in how things were in the early 60's, and how things were changing.

I like the lead character precisely because he is the fatally flawed protagonist.

Sorry if that came across as rude. I am so sick and tired of sex. I don't mean personally. But why does everything we watch these days have to be filled with sex? We were able to be entertained for years without having to go in to every bedroom in every story. And then you have Viva Viagra commercials in between. It is beginning to worry me. I mean if I am not on my wife daily should I see my doctor? If we didn't have the sex scene in last nights episode would it have been entertaining?

We missed watching it last year - so we got the first season dvd a couple of weeks ago and watched all twelve episodes.

We started to watch the new season last night - but realized that we didn't recognize some of the scenes from the previous episode - and we had JUST watched the whole thing.

We checked online and saw that there were THIRTEEN episodes last year, and I guess there's another dvd with the last one on it (there were four dvd's with 3 episodes on each, so we thought it was done).

We stopped watching and are looking for episode 13, so we can get caught up.

I Love, Love, LOVE "Mad Men!"

(Were phone bills really onblue paper in the '60's? - and WHY? LOL)

I dunno... haven't seen last night's episode yet. Thanks for the spoiler ... a sex scene ... who would have thunk it?

I don't watch a lot of television series these days so I suppose it doesn't bother me quite so much. I also suppose in this regard I'm the liberal and you're the socially repressive conservative .

To answer that question you would have to post a picture of your wife ... naked .

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
