How about "That was the Week that was" Making fun of what was in the news that day. That was funny. Right up there with "Laugh In".

I remember the "Betty White Show", "Ding Dong School" with Kate Smith.

Hallmark Hall of Fame when it was filmed live and in living black and white.

Wow.... am I dating myself?

I think live plays on primetime would kick ass today. Remember "Playhouse 90" Wait until one of those TV exec types think of it. They will be considered the new wiz kid.

Hallmark had a show live, about an operating room scene. The doctors and nurses were all around the operating table with a person on the table. The doctor asked for a "hypodeemic nerdle". All their faces were covered except their eyes. You could see they were laughing so hard tears were coming out of their eyes. The "patient" on the table was bouncing up and down from laughing so hard.

That's a real show.

On the Carol Burnett show, I don't think the phrase "Take 2" was ever said...Harvey Korman couldn't make it through a scene with Tim Conway...

Oh yes them were the days. TV had meaning for the family. Lots of laughs
Gosh Carol and the Lucy shows. Commercials were limited. But then to I recall when we had only radio in some places I lived. One used their imagination.

But some of these same shows are on re-runs today and I just don't seem to be as move dto watch them. Sanford and Son. And Archie Bunker. But if Carrol B. was on again I wouldn't miss a show.

I still listen to Radio. There is a Old time radio channel on XM. and all the shows are on line too. You can download them. I like Jack Benny. I usually go for the comedies. But they have all the old shows. From Jack Armstrong to the shadow.

It was pure genius...John Cleese is one of THEE best physical actors that ever graced this earth...

I, too, love Fawlty Towers!

It really was brilliant.

There are so many funny scenes available on YouTube that I can't post them all. But here are two. One is the classic scene with the Germans.

This one has a series of clips.
