YES!!!!...LOVED IT!!!...

I can tell you'd be the John Lennon of a band...holding the the rhythm down...Guitar Gordon...he knows...all the chords...He doesn't want to make it cry or sing...

As far as the lead notes (and the song in general)...We're you playing in a different key then the original?...Or did you simply drop an octave?...I expected you higher on the fretboard...

It sounded like you went with a "bar sound" motif...I've said that on an earlier song, so that might just be the way you play...

I thouroughly enjoyed it front to back...Thank you!...

the song has two guitar parts. mark knopfler's part which is what most recognize. but his brother is playing a strictly rhythm part and i think i played it pretty close using basic barre chords. the part that gets recognized he's using a lot of chord inversions which may sound higher in pitch and tone. i stayed with the full lower sounding barre chords. the lead parts were essentially an imitation just trying to get the basic feel. i got a few of the licks but the rest as just my improvisation. and yeah i do intentionally play what would be a bar band version. i like to play it the way i would live with a band. since my work schedule keeps me from being in a band right now my outlet is the videos i post to youtube. so i try to make it somewhat of a performance. i strip away everything except bass drums and vocals. then i record two rhythm guitar tracks panned left and right. just sounds fuller for the recording. then my video track is the center guitar and is how i would do it live. it is in fact a single live take. i don't edit the performance at all. a basic mix and master is it.

That was enjoyable...

Disappointed the guitar didn't spin like in their videos...
