Sad to hear this. He was a great athlete at Ohio State. Woody Hayes used to say that the best quarterback in the Big Ten was playing basketball, in reference to Havlichek. In fact, he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns and the Boston Celtics after his college career. He is a legend.

Thank you for posting this. It is quite informative.

I have always been a Boston Celtics fan. And I very much enjoyed watching John Havlicek play (as well as Larry Bird, who came just slightly later).

It is so sad to hear that John Havlicek has now passed away.
