Class act.

In an age where many athletes are shown to be selfish, rude and egotistical, I love seeing stories such as this.

See video at the link.

Alabama star Trent Richardson took his gridiron moves to the dance floor this weekend when he attended prom with a 17-year-old cancer survivor.

WBRC-TV reports that Richardson and Courtney Alvis arrived Saturday night at Boutwell Auditorium for Hueytown High School's prom.

He was sporting a white tuxedo while she was wearing a red dress.

Richardson agreed to attend the dance with Alvis after her uncle contacted some of his friends at Alabama. He didn't go to his own senior prom, but he said he wanted to attend Alvis' dance because his own mother is a cancer survivor.

He says: "I did it out of my heart. I'm lucky to be here with Courtney."

Alvis was diagnosed with leukemia last year and is now undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

Heartwarming. Though I will tell you that cancer didn't get me a date to prom with the guy of my dreams... So I'm calling in CHEATED. LOL

Yes, I saw this earlier with a youtube link below.

Trent, from what little I follow about college football, is climbing up the draft charts. Doing stuff like this is going to make him very attractive to a team. He seemed really sincere about helping since his mom has cancer as well.

Edit: embedding disabled, you have to click on it to go to youtube.

Richardson is considered the best running back to come out of college in quite some time. The kid is a beast and should adapt well in the NFL.

He has a some-what unique and not-so-common stature for a RB. He is short and very stocky, making him extremely difficult to take down. He also has some wheels despite being so compact.
