Post I Lost $250,000 in one day!

To help preserve the gaming experience / integrity, Blizzard prohibits people from buying / selling gaming accounts. This guy was in that business anyways and faced some rather serious financial consequences.

I have found such gaming economics interesting. This guy putting some $$$ signs on his situation is fascinating (IMO)

I don't think a business should be able to dictate the WAY people use their products in such a manner. If it's not hurting anyone, I don't think it's anyone's business if someone wants to buy an account instead of sitting in front of their computer for at least a good 80 solid hours of time doing horrible tedious upping your character, all just so you can get started on any sort of decent quest or to be able to explore any new areas. For me, RPG's are a complete and utter waste of time unless one CAN buy a character that's already pumped up. If I was to play WoW, and I had the money, I would buy an account that was already pumped up.

In one-player RPG's, I cheat and artificially pump up my character so I can actually enjoy the game.

I've never understood the gaming companies' issues with selling characters. But, that is their rule. Now, SOE allows for such things, but only on certain servers. Their approach is at least better than Blizzard's.

Regardless, I have no issues with people who buy gold, buy characters, use cheat codes, whatever. It's YOUR GAME. You're playing it to have a good time. And if doing those things makes the game fun for you, then fine. Why the **** should I care? I've bought gold before in WoW. And, I've used cheat codes in other single player games. I usually do so after I've played the game through a couple times already, OR when I'm really stuck in a certain place and the game has become less fun because of it. If my options are to stop playing the game because I'm not having fun, or to use a cheat code to get me out of a sticky spot... guess what I'm gonna do?

I don't play solitaire.

I cheat on games that I would have to spend weeks and weeks doing utterly useless tedious tasks just so I can *start* exploring new areas of the game.
