Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama To Hitler, Gets Pulled From 'Monday Night Football'

Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama To Hitler, Gets Pulled From 'Monday Night Football'

Quote:

ESPN decided to pull its Monday Night Football introduction after singer Hank Williams, Jr. made comments comparing President Obama to Hitler. A statement put out by the network read:

"While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight's telecast."

A source at ESPN told The Huffington Post that they are still evaluating whether they will use the song in the future.

The country singing star and voice of the Monday Night Football theme song, Williams appeared on "Fox and Friends" this morning to talk politics via satellite hookup. He got right into it, telling the hosts that he didn't like any of the candidates in the GOP primary for President, and that John Boehner's golf game with Barack Obama was a major mistake.

"That would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu. Not hardly. In the shape this country is in?"
Can you imagine companies and media outlet punishing direct and indirect employees for comparing Bush to Hitler, Gov. Walker to Hitler, and the Tea Party and Republicans in toto to nazis????....We'd have about 22 hours of dead air across all networks...:yes

(No...This is NOT a free speech issue...ESPN is a private company and congress "passed no law" for ESPN to force this decision...They did it on their own and have every right to)...:yes

I can certainly imagine them disassociating themselves from celebrity spokespersons who compare Bush to Hitler. Can't you? :confused

ESPN has the right to do it.

End of story.

Hank Williams Jr. Gets Dumped By ESPN

I have never liked this useless puke ever since he and his mom tried to cut his step sister out of their dads estate. Now after showing the hate that dwells in some of the right he got his dunb hillbilly ass dumped by the network.

Hey Hank. Are ya ready for no football

Worthless pissant can go back to entertaining tea party events.

far from it...

"Having a right to do something does not mean it's always the right thing to do."...

Do you have an opinion on whether or not ESPN should've exercised their right?...

I thought I voiced my opinion. :slapme

It's totally their call.

If I was the head of ESPN, as a sports network first and foremost....I too would want to avoid political controversy.

So yes, I would have most likely done it too.

That goes for someone who would have publicly compared Bush to Hitler also. :yes

Irony alert...

One of the main culprits that referenced Bush as Hitler, a nazi, and a fascist was Keith Olbermann...

...who, before MSNBC, worked forrrrrrrrr...:yes

I should refrain from commenting because I have a personal grudge against the puke and an opinion of his character based on that grudge. But, yes, I am glad they ended their association with him. Definitely raises my respect for them.

Did he do it while working for ESPN?

If so, please show the clip.
