Default Left Wing Late Night

Is it just me or is every late night comedy show hosted by a very left wing host?

Jimmy Fallon - The guy performs at Obama fundraising events. Enough said.

David Letterman - Makes personal attacks against the daughter of a Republican figure. He took ''personal'' to a whole new level with palin. Very liberal.

Conan O'Brien - In his own words he's a staunch liberal.

Craig Ferguson - Very Liberal.

Jon Stewart - Like watching a half hour political attack ad against the Republicans during election season. Just a very biased Liberal the rest of the time.

Colbert - See Stewart. He's like a male Rachel Maddow who can be funny.

I was shocked last Thursday night when both the Daily Show and Colbert Report started their shows with jokes/mocking of the Republican debate from three days earlier rather than talking about the important, primetime, Presidential address to the nation and joint session of congress on jobs. They had three nights to bash the Republicans and still had to devote the first 10 minutes to more Republican mocking???

Republicans may have Fox News and some radio but the Liberals have everything else. Whether it's The View, Joy Behar Show, Bill Maher, or every single late night comedy show. Odds are if you're watching tv you're watching a liberal try to influence you in some way.

Yeah they seem to be a left wing chorus, with the possible exception of Leno, who seems to spread his fairly mild humor around a full spectrum of targets.

Coincidentally, I just read this earlier today...

What the typical hosts are doing is not "comedy"...It's snark reality...

Turns Out, Obama Is Sort of Mock-Worthy

Quote:
I don't watch any of the late-night talk show hosts, so I didn't know that they actually are making fun of Obama (or rather, his SCOAMF on the economy/jobs front). Even bitter old lefty Letterman.

Leno has a good one:

Quote:
Leno: The NFL season kicks off Thursday night right here on NBC. We are all very excited. The game will be on right after the season finale of President Obama.
Some of these jokes aren't even funny. Which is a good sign that Obama's in trouble. Joblessness is so prominent in the public consciousness that they have to mention it, even when they don't have a good joke about it. The jokes are made because they're obligatory, not chosen because they're riotously funny.

Like this Leno line:

Quote:
Leno: Government statistics show the U.S. economy created zero jobs in August. President Obama now says he's confident this month he can double that.
Not a good joke. But he felt he had to address the top political story, whether he had a good joke about it or not.

Quote:
Leno: President Obama's jobs speech was tonight: A guy whose job nobody approves of giving a speech about jobs that don't exist to people who don't have any jobs.

Fallon: President Obama's $447-billion spending plan is called the American Jobs Act. It would have had a cooler name, but the name guy was laid off six months ago.
Same thing.

Quote:
Leno: President Obama named his new $447-billion legislation the American Jobs Act. Better than the original name, the Save My Ass Act.
This isn't even a joke, really. This is just what everyone's thinking. This is less a "joke" and more of a straightforward if cynical analysis of the actual political positioning going on here. He gives it a joke format, but this is really no different than what Charles Krauthammer said about it the same day. It just has a joke-like rhythm and joke-like casual glibness.

These are almost all "clappers" -- "jokes" whose main appeal is not funniness, but simply the pithy expression of what the audience thinks. Such jokes don't get laughs; they get claps of approval. Not chuckles, but nods of assent.

It's one thing if a comic dares to make a truly funny joke at Obama's expense. But offering a series of clappers about him isn't about comedy, it's about genuine frustration, disappointment, and disapproval.

Both of them are taped in the early afternoon, and written in the morning- the jobs address was late on the 8th. Thus the comedy about the jobs speech was last night, the 12th- when they did indeed address it at length.

You get the respect you give. And if you're a Republican, you b*tch about paybacks being a b*tch. So sorry you're mad your guy is getting the respect you gave ours, Snowflakes.

I rarely see republicans that are actually funny.

Right wing comedy exists, but the left will never hear it. The MSM will not allow it.

Stephen Crowder shows a letter from John Stewart's producer to his agent saying "Yeah, Stephen's funny, but we don't use right wing comedians".

The right wing comedy I find hilarious comes from a blog by a guy called Iowahawk.

You can also find it at IowntheWorld.com and in the one line intros of WeazelZippers.

PeoplesCube is pretty clever, and humorous.

There's also Andrew Klavan, and Zonation on PJTV.

Lot's of cartoon humor. Ramirez is probably the best.

I subscribe to something on YouTube called Newsbusted.

Glen Beck does some funny stuff, especially on his radio show with his assistant.

Then there's Fox's RedEye. Their Robotheatre segments make me laugh.

The reason the lefties have such a strong presence on late night is that us conservatives have JOBS and have to get up in the morning to go to work. All the liberals have to do is get up in time to cash thier welfare checks, buy a bottle of ripple and make their afternoon protest march.

Maybe the right isn't that entertaining. They seem angry all the time except when mocking the POTUS or Dems. So they aren't good at it. But hey look at this, you guys do partisan news better then the left does. That is why you lead the partisan news channels

haha it's the only thing we're good at!

I don't get how the comedy shows can make fun of Republicans for being plain and boring then go on to talk about their debates for an entire week. Must be pretty interesting if they have to talk about them for days and days.

And I loved how all of those shows had Rick Perry jokes starting the day he won his first poll. They didn't know anything about him but began opperation destroy Rick Perry that very night.
