New Election Ordered in Screven County, Georgia Following Court Hearing on Irregulari
Finally some ballot irregularities are being addressed in GA.
Quote:
The Screven County, Georgia's election just took a turn.
A judge has ordered a brand new election after testimony in a highly anticipated hearing revealed "systemic irregularities" in the 2022 election. This all started when five people, including candidates for county commissioner and county commissioner Allison Willis, filed a lawsuit against Elections Superintendent Debbie Brown, Elections Supervisor Hannah Derriso, and Commissioner Edwin Lovett. They claimed that the wrong ballots were given to at least two dozen District 1 voters and that it could have affected the county commission race in that district, which had a margin of just SEVEN votes.
Attorneys for Brown, Derriso, and Lovett argued that they were the wrong parties to sue and that Chief Registrar Dorothy Glisson should be sued instead. Glisson was then added to the lawsuit, but the plaintiffs didn't drop the suit against the other three. They instead asked a judge to order a new election for the District 1 county commission race.
And that's exactly what Senior Judge Michael Karpf did. He ruled that the mistakes in the election were "unintentional" but "sufficiently egregious" to warrant a brand new election. https://redstateobserver.com/article.asp?id=212158
