I believe it's a myth that Trump is not a good debater. He beat Hillary (and 25 or so to get to her), which is why he is president. Like you, I've lived with someone with dementia. Biden exhibits all the symptoms. |

The good news is that it's only the core Trump base that buys this nonsense about Biden being in some sort of mental decline. |

I'm not part of Trump's base (skipped casting a vote for president in 2016 because neither candidate was worthy of my vote) and I can see that Biden is suffering mental decline. My eldest daughter is a huge Bernie Sanders fan (extreme liberal) and she told me she won't vote for Biden because he is losing his mental capacity. Her vote for 2020 will hinge on Biden's VP pick because she is convinced his VP will take over within 2 years. Her husband (also extremely liberal) is of the same opinion. I also have quite a few Libertarian friends that can't stand Trump but will not vote for Biden because they also think his mental faculties are failing and worse than Trump's. |

I for one favor small government solutions to social and economic issues. I also favor personal responsibility and accountability over the approach of social and economic safety nets. That only leads to people being rewarded for bad decisions.

![]() [QUOTE=Constant_Slothrop;990313]He didn't beat Hillary in any of the debates. That's just foolish. He won because his base (white non-college educated white voters) doesn't really care about who had the more logical and reasonable arguments in a debate.

![]() I think that those pre written press releases will quickly serve as toilet paper. Biden is doing well at present because he is hiding in his basement. As the campaign progresses, he will be forced into high pressure situations, far more public speaking, and the three debates. And the mental problems will rapidly accelerate.

![]() trumpers seem as motivated as ever to re-elect their guy.
i don't see that same motivation with democrats in general. certainly some of them would be ready and willing to vote for hitler if it meant getting rid of trump. but others...even so-called never-trumpers...are looking at biden and just aren't inspired. i suspect low turnout from independents and those lukewarm on either candidate. that probably favors the incumbent. just my two cents. |
