Default 2020 Election

It's time!!!!!!!!!!!! /brucebuffervoice

All talk regarding the Democratic primaries, Republican primaries, and the actual presidential election.

I'll kick off this thread by pointing out how fuqing hard it is for candidates to knock off the incumbent president.

Seriously, it's hard as balls and I just don't see anyone on the left at this moment that can do it. Only president since Reagan to not win 2 terms in a row was Bush Sr.

There will be a segment of the Democrat Party that will stay home...Whether that's the "far-Left" or the "regular-Left" is unknown at this point...

Another thing that'll be hard for libs to win are Trump's accomplishments. He's done a lot and ya can be damn sure Trump will do nothin' but bring 'em up over and over and over again. Then we'll look at what libs did and it'll basically be, "oppose Trump and obstruct."

Def not lookin' good for libs in 2020.

Let's take a gander at the libs who've officially declared their candidacy:

- Cory Booker
- Pete Buttigieg
- Julian Castro
- John Delaney
- Tulsi Gabbard
- Kirsten Gillibrand
- Kamala Harris
- Amy Klobuchar
- Socialist Boy
- Pocahontas

Not exactly an impressive list. If I had to narrow it down to five right here, right now, I'd say Booker, Castro, Kamala, Socialist Boy, and Pocahontas have the best odds at winning their party's nomination.

Another mistake libs could make are the candidates tryin' to match Bernie in his socialism views. Overall Americans don't want socialism and it'd be dumb for these candidates to try and run on it. I say let Bernie be Bernie and let him beat himself.

Tulsi is a candidate I'd keep an eye on. Not quite ready to list her in my top 5 but she could def make waves in the Democratic primaries. She's Samoan-American and a Hindu. Wildcard for sure.

From Wiki:

Quote:
Her opposition to removing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power by force, her relation to the ruling Indian BJP party, and her past lobbying in 2004 against same-sex marriage and civil unions stirred controversy.
Tulsi better not try and play like she's this huge Samoan Hindu because she's basically just a left-wing white girl.

If Democrats want to retake the White House, they must rebuild in the Midwest. Losing Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa, and barely holding onto Minnesota was devastating for them.

They did well in 2018, winning all sorts of Governorships, and Senate and House races up here. Shoot, Iowa is now 3D-1R in the House of Representatives. A strong candidiate that can appeal to both blue-collar moderate Dems and the growing liberal base could easily flip back most of what they lost.

You know I'm going to say Bernie Sanders.

He fires up young voters and liberals of all stripes like no other, and he's very pro-union and worker's rights. Unlike what the "bu- bu soshuwism!" crowd wants to believe, the majority of Americans are on board with his ideas such as universal health care, a strong minimum wage, tuition-free higher education, and legalizing marijuana among others.

I was at a rally for our new governor when she was running last year, and Bernie got the biggest applause out of everyone who spoke, bar none. I think he has the best shot at retaking the Midwest and making Trump a one-term president.

I remain mystified as to how 35 percent of the country can think that a failed TV game show host is more impressive than people like this, who actually understand how the government works.

Because your "failed TV game show host" (and you can't even explain "how" he failed) is not only insulting, but inaccurate...

Why don't you mention his multi-billion dollar construction & real estate business?...

His international negotiations?...

His decades of executive leadership?...

...because THAT is what reasonable people see...

I didn't walk around for eight year asking why people voted for Obama, since he's nothing more than a former Baskin-Robbins employee...That would've just shown everyone I'm not here for legitimate debate...

Probably because that’s largely a myth. He illegally received hundreds of millions of dollars from his father and failed in numerous business enterprises. If he had just invested the money he received, he would be worth much more today. He’s a con man and he’s fooled millions into believing the myth of his “success.”
