So if I dig up all sorts of racism from McCain supporters, then that automatically becomes racism from the McCain CAMPAIGN, right?

Does the neo-con "guilt by association" approach even require ANY association these days, beyond "I support Obama"???
Cause I read a couple days ago about somebody who shot a man for wearing an Obama t-shirt, and I think with your approach I could bring McCain up on at least aiding and abetting charges ...
Nope...

Here's what Jesse Jackson Junior said according to the article...

Quote:
Other black members of Congress, all Democrats who support Mr. Obama, said they were dismayed by the new and vicious tenor of the McCain attacks.

“If McCain’s attacks don’t cross the line, they’re certainly teetering on it,” said Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. of Illinois. “He is certainly appealing to people’s fears and not their hopes.”
Now is he just a supporter?...

Quote:
Jesse Louis "Jesse Jr." Jackson, Jr. (born March 11, 1965) is a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives representing Illinois's 2nd congressional district, which includes the southeast suburbs of Chicago, part of the Chicago South Side and a small portion of the southeast side of Chicago. He has served the 2nd district since winning a special election on December 12, 1995 to fill the seat vacated by Mel Reynolds and is the son of activist and former presidential candidate Jesse Jackson. His wife, Sandi Jackson, serves on the Chicago City Council. He serves as a national co-chairman of the Barack Obama Presidential campaign.
At least SOME of these accusations of race are coming from people DIRECTLY part of Obama's campaign...

It's not JUST a "supporter thing"...

And from what I see of JJ Junior's quote, I agree 100%.
Can you point me towards where he was wrong?

Or, to cut to the chase, can you point to where JJ Jr said Palin or McCain were being racist?

Cause that is not what I see Jesse Jackson Jr saying here.

Palin / McCain's modern approach / statements ARE over the line.
Just not cause they are "racist".

To give more of what was said SPECIFICALLY regarding Jesse Jackson Jr...

Mr. Jackson took issue with the McCain campaign’s attack on Mr. Obama’s connection to Mr. Ayers, who committed acts of domestic terrorism when Mr. Obama was 8 years old, and contrasted that with Mr. McCain’s long relationships with erstwhile supporters of segregation in the Senate like Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond.

“Should McCain be held responsible for having served with segregationalists when he was 8 years old, 18 years old, 28 years old, 38 years old, 48 years old, 58 years old, 68 years old?” Mr. Jackson said. “Did he ever meet with any of them? Did he ever conference with them or work with them? Did McCain quit the Senate instead of work with them?”

He added: “Did Sarah Palin throw her husband out of the house for advocating secession from the union?”

here's exactly where the connection is...

Jesse Jackson Junior - "He is certainly appealing to people’s fears and not their hopes."

Fears?...Whatever "fears" could he POSSIBLY mean?...

Lets ask the candidate for which he's the national co-chairman...

Are you even listening to what they are talking about?
Are you EVEN LISTENING to what PALIN ACTUALLY SAID that they are referring to?
Are you EVEN LISTENING to what Jesse Jackson Junior ACTUALLY SAID???

I think not, cause if you did, you wouldn't ask that question.
The "fear" is the image that Obama "pals around" with terrorism.
THAT is the "fear".

And you can sit there and try to put words in people's mouths all you want.
What you don't get is that IT IS NOT WORKING...
McCain, Palin, and their supporters trying to paint false images that the public sees through is the reason you guys are losing this election.

Time to blame it on the media for not agreeing with following you guys off the deep end...

I know they're tough to find on the internet, much less finding one who will post on message boards these days, most of them would understandably rather blog, but this board is in dire need of intelligent and literate liberals and leftists. The 'Right' just has no competition here at all. It's like watching Bobby Fischer playing checkers with Bonzo.

You gave a guy who provides transportation who gave a racist quote.
cnredd gave a guy who IS part of the campaign, who NEVER MENTIONED RACE.

I think you're confused as to who isn't being "honest" here...
Instead of insulting people, why don't you try debating the issue.
I know it's tougher, but in the end if the truth is on your side instead of a lot of hot air, you actually convince people...

No, I'm positive I'm not ...

This isn't a debating board, it's a discussion board, but be that as it may, I would happy to debate the issue with somebody who knows what they're talking about. Do you know anybody like that? Invite them here if you do.

Yes. Thanks for noticing that the truth is on my side.

And "but this board is in dire need of intelligent and literate liberals and leftists. The 'Right' just has no competition here at all. It's like watching Bobby Fischer playing checkers with Bonzo." was just a glowing recommendation from you.

At best, you're only fooling yourself with your statement...

If I find somebody like that who shares your position, I'll let you know.
Until then, the gauntlet was thrown down and you obviously ducked...

Cause so far, you're the only one making that assessment...

Once again, the REPUBLICAN dissonance rears its head where they create all sorts of new standards to try to perpetuate their "guilt by association" techniques.

This Democrat representative, speaking his personal opinion, does NOT reflect the "Obama Campaign" position.
We, the American people, have endured these sleazy tactics with the attempts to declare people as "terrorist sympathizers" when they oppose the invasions of privacy...
I think you need to realize EXACTLY why Bush's popularity rating is so low, and why McCain is losing ground in this election...
Guilt by association..........duh.........Bush Mccain..........Mccain Bush...........Bush Mccain.......Mccain Bush.........Mcsame.............You can't even have a conversation with a liberal without them using the same tactic that you are complaining about.

Ya'll are just upset that even though we have been telling you for over a year now that Obama's history is beginning to leak out. This is what happens when a person is NOT vetted. We warned you and warned you.

Want to piss off a conservative......Tell them a lie.
Want to piss off a liberal................Tell them a truth.
