Post Palin/McCain CBS Katie Couric

1) It's like the train wreck that never ends.
When the rescue vehicles come to sort things out, they only crash some more...

2) It's almost funny how Katie asks Palin a question, and then McCain cuts off Palin's response to give his own answer.
It's obvious that not even McCain trusts her, so why should the American public?
Also, how lame is it that she blatantly states a public position that is CONSISTENT WITH OBAMA'S statement, which McCain PUBLICLY CRITICIZED. She obviously wasn't doing her homework...
I can't help but wonder if he regrets his choice now. Maybe next time he'll have more than one conversation with the candidate before saying "you're my pick for the #2 spot"...

3) "Gotcha Journalism"???
Obviously, McCain and crew had NO problem with "Gotcha Journalism" when it comes to Obama regarding his "guns and religion" quote.
And the funny thing is that THAT situation, unlike where Palin's ACTUAL statement took place, actually fit McCain's complaint description.

4) "Gotha Journalism"???
I am thoroughly amused (and underwhelmed) by how McCain tries to spin PALIN'S MISTAKE into a complaint against the media that reported it.
OMG! You mean the media reported on a snafu of the McCain campaign!
How DARE they!!!

If they can't handle the media THAT THEY INVITE TO THEIR EVENTS, ...
If they can't handle THEIR OWN FELLOW REPUBLICANS to get them on board with the "bailout" package...
Then HOW can we trust them to handle the country???

I don't trust them to handle the country...

Post Re: Palin/McCain CBS Katie Couric

I'm just going to add onto this thread, cause if we have individual threads for each aspect of of how Palin is "screwing up" in interviews one way or another, then we're just going to need our own "Palin" sub-section...
On sexism:

COURIC: Do you think the coverage of you has been sexist?

Governor SARAH PALIN: No, I don't. I mean, I know that there--it's obvious there's some double-standards here, you know, in terms of what the media has been doing, but I think that's more--I think more attributable to just the media elite, the Washington elite, not knowing who I am and just asking a whole lot of questions and not so much based on gender though, but based on just the fact that I'm not part of the Washington herd.

COURIC: Having said that, do you think it would be sexist, governor, not to question your credentials and your policy positions?

Gov. PALIN: It would be sexist if the media were to hold back and not ask me about my experience, my vision, my principles, my values, you're right.
Palin To Couric: Media Coverage Isn't Sexist

She is going to HAVE to learn how to bobble-head the "talking points" if she is going to make it in the White House.
How can she contradict the boring lies that McCain and McCain backers have so carefully tried to fertilize???

And I can't help but want to tell her.
"Um. Mrs. Palin? Regarding your comments of the "media elite's" actions that you mentioned in your first answer above, can you kindly reference what you stated in your second answer above?
That will probably clear up a LOT for you... "

Post Re: Palin/McCain CBS Katie Couric

Today, the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz reported on potentially embarrassing clips of Sarah Palin being interviewed by Katie Couric that haven't yet been aired. The Politico has more information on one in particular:

Of concern to McCain's campaign, however, is a remaining and still-undisclosed clip from Palin's interview with Couric last week that has the political world buzzing.

The Palin aide, after first noting how "infuriating" it was for CBS to purportedly leak word about the gaffe, revealed that it came in response to a question about Supreme Court decisions.

After noting Roe vs. Wade, Palin was apparently unable to discuss any major court cases.

There was no verbal fumbling with this particular question as there was with some others, the aide said, but rather silence.
Latest Palin Gaffe: Can't Name Supreme Court Case Other Than Roe V. Wade

I get really tired of this liberal media always hiding the gaffes of the Democrats, and highlighting the gaffes of the Republicans...
Oh wait. This is the other way around?
Harumph! Well I guess it's just about time the "liberal media" start treating Republicans fairly...

John McCain.
You'll just have to trust him that his "other" big decisions will be better...
