Don't change the subject...

The Democrats were WILLING to go to an event sponsored by people who they had no intention of looking into their tax emempt status UNTIL a Republican was involved...

I can't top what Democratic Assemblyman Dov Hikind said, so I'll just show it again...

Quote:
"This is insulting. This is embarrassing, especially to Gov. Palin, to me and I think it should be to every single New Yorker," Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, told CBS 2 HD...

"It's an absolute shame that this has happened," Hikind said. "To threaten organizations … to threaten the Conference of Presidents that if you don't withdraw the invitation to Gov. Palin we're going to look into your tax exempt status … that's McCarthyism."

Now you're talking about withdrawing Palin's invite. This started out "Why did Hillary not attend?"
Shouldn't we be irked at the people who decide the tax status? I don't get it.

HUH??? This started with "Why did the Dems. threaten these folks with losing thier tax exempt status?" Why won't you address that issue and insist on repeatedly trying to change the subject? C'mon, show some backbone and take a stand on this. Is threatening these people an acceptable action or isn't it?

Looks like the goals and interests of Clinton and the organizers were just at odds with each other:
Quote:
“Her attendance was news to us, and this was never billed to us as a partisan political event,” said a spokesman for Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, this morning. “Senator Clinton will therefore not be attending.”
It was the article's writer that inferred there was pressure from Democrats

Quote:
The Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations created a political tempest by inviting Palin to speak without clearing her invitation with another speaker
Quote:
The groups sponsoring the rally against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking at the UN were reportedly told, "it could jeopardize their tax exempt status" if they had Palin and not Clinton or Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden on hand.

Sounds like High School I first don't know why Palin would have been invited in the first place. If you wanted to show bipartisanship you would invite another Senator. Like McSame. Palin has probably never seen a Jew until recently. Look McSame picked palin to capitalize on Barack not naming Hillary. So the idea that they should be hanging together gives Palin credibility she doesn't deserve. So I can understand Hillary pulling the plug.

No, the article stated that sources informed him that there had been pressure to rescind the orgs. tax exempt status, it wasn't inferred, it was reported from sources.

Yes I do have a comment. I don't think anyone should be tax exempt as long as I'm paying mine. Don't they want to bail out AIG too?

"there had been 'pressure'"
doen't qualify as Obama told them to do this.

Here's the original post...

When did I say otherwise?...

So defensive about Obama you're willing to throw his name out when none on did so beforehand?...

A little reflexive action perhaps?...
