Donald Trump, the flamboyant New York magnate, said on CNN’s “Larry King Live” on Wednesday night that he is supporting Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for president.

Trump, never shy with his opinions, went on to say that McCain appears to be winning, and that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) should have chosen Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) as his running mate.

“I know John McCain, and John McCain's a great guy, a tremendous guy,” Trump told King. “I've known him for a long time. And I'm with him, and I'm with him based on the fact that I have great knowledge of John McCain. Also, this is not the right time for tax increases. And Obama wants to increase your taxes drastically.”

Well, maybe not your taxes. But certainly The Donald’s: Obama would repeal President Bush tax cuts for households making more than $250,000.

During the Democratic primaries, Trump donated to Hillary Clinton, according to records posted by the Center for Responsive Politics. Trump donated to McCain in May, according to the records.

“I don't understand why Hillary wasn't chosen [for vice president],” Trump said. “ She was really winning. I have a friend that came to this country and was here for the last four weeks of that whole election. He said: How did she lose? She won every primary? He didn't understand it.

“The fact is, that Obama went limping across the finish line. He should have chosen Hillary, It would have been a much different race, I believe. Right now, it looks to me like McCain is probably winning.”

During the show, the two men had this exchange:

TRUMP: I'm endorsing McCain. I am basically very strongly — you have to understand: I've known him. I like him, I respect him.

KING: So you're endorsing him?

TRUMP: I think he's going to be a great president.

KING: So you're endorsing him.

TRUMP: Sure, I'll endorse him on your show.

KING: You just endorsed him.

TRUMP: I endorse him.

KING: Are you pessimistic or optimistic about this financial situation?

TRUMP: Well, I'm very pessimistic.

Just ask his ex-wives...
GREAT choices there, eh?

Just out of curiousity, since Warren Buffet has endorsed Obama, does that trump your Trump?

A radical (albeit successful) entrepreneur who cheated on two wives we know of, endorses a Presidential candidate. Whoopee.

If I were McCain, I'd pretend I'm apostle Peter and say "Trump who?"...

Buffet is known as the "Oracle of Omaha"

He chose Obama because of the "O" in his name.

See, Obama Compulsion Disorder (OCD) can afflict anyone.

As for wives, people who are growing can grow apart or too slowly and thus no longer be well suited.

Do you stay on a train even after it's clear it is going away from where you want to go? Of course not.

He got divorced. He left them all better off than they were.

Life is short.

There is more of a Freudian slip of "Obama-phobia" going on than OCD...

Well, DUH!
Shouldn't Trump have figured that in when he PICKED his wife???

Or is Trump possibly too short-sighted to recognize the flaws in his choices?

... if being successful and cheating on your wife multiple times means your endorsement is meaningless, should we assume you will equally not care when Bill Clinton eventually gets around to endorsing Obama ... or that Ted Kennedy already has???

The real story isn't that Trump endorsed Obama. The story is that he was a very pro-Hillary proponent and because of the way Obama stole the nomination and then proceeded to thumb his nose at Hillary when it came time to choose a VP, he has defected from the Dems and prefers McCain.

I can't speak for others, but me personally? No.
I wasn't holding my breath on either of those guys...

"Obama stole the nomination"
Tell me he isn't serious.
Hillary lost fair and square.
Quite frankly, I'm a little amazed more Republicans haven't commented on the "losing election" whine theme. (i.e. reminiscent of responses to Bush's electoral wins)

"thumb his nose at Hillary" for VP???
It's his choice to make, and while I would be fascinated to learn what went into his decision, it was HIS decision.

Trump's statements come off like a nitwit...
Trump, never shy with his opinions, went on to say that McCain appears to be winning...
Um. No...
Palin excitement levels off as Democrats regain lead - CNN.com

"Also, this is not the right time for tax increases. And Obama wants to increase your taxes drastically.”
And there he is repeating blatantly stupid lies.
Trump's taxes will increase.
Claiming "your taxes drastically" will increase? Dumb, dumb, dumb...

He's a jaded Hillary supporter who is jumping ship out of spite.
