S.C. Dem chair: Palin primary qualification is she hasn't had an abortion

Quote:
South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler sharply attacked Sarah Palin today, saying John McCain had chosen a running mate " whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”

Palin is an opponent of abortion rights and gave birth to her fifth child, Trig, earlier this year after finding out during her pregnancy that the baby had Down syndrome.
Just when you think it couldn't get any lower...

I think plenty dems, especially women, are starting to see how disgusting their party members really are.

All these baseless, sexist attacks are really starting to disgust me. It seems to be neverending with every day some other asshole Dem or Dem supporter doing or saying the totally unthinkable.

The way some of these folks are behaving it makes me ashamed to be American.

... and all these years they tried to paint themselves as some sort of party of tolerance.

I think Carol Fowler's sole qualification to be the Democratic Chairwoman in SC is that her mother didn't have an abortion.

I wonder how that child will feel one day knowing that was said about him...

I'm just completely disgusted.

Not to be Debbie Downer or anything, but are we even sure that the child will understand what was said about him? Down's is a pretty significant thing and could limit the level of understanding this child can attain.

Perhaps it is a minor miracle that he may not understand.

In relation to the comment... I find it repulsive, but I find it more repulsive that we are trying to make news about individuals into news about parties. I know that you guys are more intellectual than that. I know that you are better people than that and I'm sure you don't believe what you are saying. You are using this and your rage to lump individuals together and judge them as a group. It's irresponsible and inaccurate.

Posting every comment by the right about Obama and Hillary during the primary season and since would not be your idea of a good time, unless of course you agree with their stupidity and vile nature which judging by your reaction to this comment, you dont.

I mean, I realize the left want us to choose only the 'best' babies, but I didn't realize that YOU WANT TO ABORT ALL non-perfect babies.

I suppose I should kill my 16 year old daughter that I've raised on my own for the last 10 years because she isn't 'perfect'.

As if you and your side ...

Don't tell me ever again that you find something repulsive in three words while proceeding to spend the next several sentences defending the position.

That just makes you hilarious.

Absolutely not, and you would really have to reach to try to get anything close to that position from my statement. You made the statement that these statements about Palin aborting her youngest child would be played back and the child would hear them. My comment was that the child might not have the capacity to understand those comments and while it's a tragedy that he has Down's, it's a minor miracle because there is a good chance that he will not understand these horrible comments.

I mean, I realize the left want us to choose only the 'best' babies, but I didn't realize that YOU WANT TO ABORT ALL non-perfect babies.

Another B.S. comment. The left wants to protect a woman's right to make a decision about her body but in no way does it advocate eugenics. Personally, I find abortion to be morally repugnant in all but the most extreme situations (rape, incest, death of the mother), but it's not my place to legislate my personal morality on others.

I suppose I should kill my 16 year old daughter that I've raised on my own for the last 10 years because she isn't 'perfect'.

More created rage and your jumping to illogical outlandish conclusions...

No one was defending the position. I merely indicated that it's intellectually dishonest and lazy for you to lump all liberals into one group based upon the comments of some whacko.

Added to my favorites for the next thread that starts with "Certain Christian minister says something ridiculous" and then attacks Christianity as a whole...

Or for all pointless assumptions we all make based upon association with certain groups. I don't hold you responsible for what Focus on the Family says, unless you repeat it as an argument on your behalf. I would expect the same courtesy.
