Default Protestors Disrupt Palin's speech

Ready for this one?...

As the Washington Post reports...

Inside the Convention Hall for Palin

Quote:
10:45 p.m. A pair of Code Pink activists just got to the very edge of the stage and were a moment away from apparently running on stage, right by the Kentucky slot on the floor next to a host of McCain's most senior staffers.

Secret Service men grabbed them at last minute and literally dragged them out.
Of course, CodePink is ecstatic about their display...

CODEPINK activists interrupt Sarah Palin’s RNC speech at side of the stage!

Quote:
Two activists of the women’s peace group CODEPINK disrupted Sarah Palin’s speech tonight at the Republican National Convention when they approached the stage where Palin was speaking, adjusted their clothes to reveal pink slips that read “Palin is not a woman’s choice,” stood there at the side of the stage for about a minute and yelled “Women say no to war!” and “Women need a vice-president for peace!” They also removed banners that read “Women need a peace vice-president.”

Co-founders Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans, who were given their tickets to the speech by a Republican delegate who was frustrated with the Republican party and Sarah Palin, caught the attention of Palin with their banners and shouting about 15 minutes into her speech. Palin stopped talking for a moment to turn to look at them.

After another moment, security then grabbed Benjamin and Evans and escorted them one at a time out of the St. Paul Xcel Center, where they were held until the end of the Palin’s speech and told they would be arrested if they tried to reenter. They were told they’d committed an arrestable offense but they were not charged.
I know what you're all thinking...

"Yeah...But those 2 morons...Benjamin and Evans...They're just kooks....They're so far left of the dial they don't deal with REAL Democrats...They don't represent or appreciate the "regular" Democrats...

In fact, even though Obama has the most Liberal record in the Senate, he's not THAT Liberal to where someone like Jodie Evans would be helping his campaign or anything."

And if you were thinking that?...Well...I guess you know where I'm heading with this...

Code Pink co-founder is Obama bundler

Quote:
A co-founder of the anti-war group Code Pink, which has made a name for itself by interrupting hearings on Capitol Hill, is a fundraising bundler for Barack Obama.

Jodie Evans has pledged to raise at least $50,000 for Obama, according the Democrat's campaign site.

According to research being circulated by GOP sources, Evans has a record of inflammatory statements such as saying that women were better off in Iraq under Saddam Hussein, "Men are dying in their Hummers in Iraq so you can drive around in yours" and, my favorite, that the invasion of Iraq amounted to "global testosterone poisoning."

Evans, though, is not just a single-issue crusader. She's worked in politics and liberal causes for decades, including stints working for Jerry Brown during his years as governor and in his 1992 White House run.

That an activist liberal is raising money for Obama isn't all that surprising. But in a campaign that has been dominated as much by the associates of candidates as the candidates themselves (Jeremiah Wright, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush), Evans is a reminder that what may not have mattered much in a primary has the potential to be resonant in the general.
So maybe this thread should be more specific and say "Woman who bundles thousands of dollars for the Obama Campaign disrupts Palin's speech...

Time for Obama to open the bus doors and throw another one under!...

McCain's speech was peppered with incidents till the protesters were removed.
One was quiet. He held a sign that said McCain did not vote for Vets. And he held up his hands with piece gestures.
Then one woman ran up the aisle yelling. Then a bunch more came out, some with piece signs (finger spread) raised high as they were being dragged away.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
While both sides have their loons, the left just seems to have a whole lot more of them and they are more influential than the right's loons.

Update...

How did Evans get into the convention?...

THEFT...

According to CodePink's website I sourced earler...

Quote:
Co-founders Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans, who were given their tickets to the speech by a Republican delegate who was frustrated with the Republican party and Sarah Palin

As you can see, Eavns has a tag that says "Annie Eckrick Indiana" on it...

And she IS an alternative delegate from Indiana...

Quote:
Other delegates from the 3rd Distirct are: Fort Wayne Councilman Mitch Harper, state Sen. Tom Wyss of Fort Wayne, Stanford Rice of Fort Wayne, Toby Buck of Warsaw, Don McArdle of Fort Wayne and Pizza Hut magnate Richard Freeland of Fort Wayne, along with Republican National Committeewoman Diane Adams of Huntington. Other alternate delegates from the 3rd District are Ann Eckrich of Fort Wayne and state Sen. David Long of Fort Wayne.
One problem though...

Annie didn't give it to her...

Quote:
We just got off the phone with Annie Eckrich from Indiana.
She was at the convention each day.
She DID NOT GIVE CODE PINK PERMISSION TO USE HER IDENTITY!
CODE PINK STOLE HER IDENTITY!!!
Annie was very upset that the radical antiwar group stole her identity. She was not familiar with the Code Pink movement. She has no idea how they came across her name.
So NOW maybe we should change the title of this thread to "Woman who bundles thousands of dollars for the Obama Campaign steals delegates indentity card to get into Republican convention and disrupt Palin's speech"...
