REV. STRIKES AGAIN

Quote:
TOLEDO, Ohio - The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama's fiery ex-pastor, re-emerged yesterday with a crude reference about race and sex in the White House.

"This ordinary boy [Obama] just might be the first president in the history of the United States to have a black woman sleeping at 1600 Pennsylvania legally," Wright said, referring to Michelle Obama, in a sermon at the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston.

It was unclear whether Wright was making a reference to prostitution, to old miscegenation laws, or to the history of illicit interracial sex under slavery.

Wright's remarks yesterday were full of praise for Obama - although several times, he referred to Obama as a "boy" who later developed into an extraordinary person, through God's work and, presumably, Wright's guidance.

"The lord turned the ordinary into the extraordinary. Y'all just saw it this past week. It was on national television," Wright said to applause.

"An ordinary black boy raised in a single-parent home . . . walked into my office 20 years ago to talk about his dream for a community that concentrated on things that we could achieve in common."
Obama's campaign just opened their closet and brought back out their Whack-A-Mole hammer...

Thanks redd. That sure helped the debate. Keep us appraised of Wrights comments. Its so relevant. I'm a little surprized you follow Wright as much as you do. Nobody else does. Including Obama. But you think that you can make the previous association an important issue go ahead.
I am sure he will have more to say. Because he didn't appreciate being thrown under the bus. I don't suppose you would take that in to account.

You have to be a part of the driver's life in some capacity in order to be thrown under his bus...Was Wright?...I go with "Yes...for 20 years"...

If Obama never publicly told everyone Wright was his mentor and shaped his faith, none of this would be of interest...

Look he obviously liked Wright. So did many. So DO many. He also did some very good things in his life. He also said some things that pissed folks off. And Obama decided he had heard enough. And Wright made it worse by acting even stranger at the time. Barack has told you what he believes. But that isn't good enough for you. You just want to believe that he believes what wright believes. I am happy he dumped Wright. But you can't demonstrate that Barack holds any of Wrights views. I guess that doesn't matter either. Do you ever notice that these arguments against Barack are never about what Barack did? Or anything that Barack espouses. But because he knows people who say or do something outrages that is the best that you guys have. So that's the level of debate.

Well, this may be one of the few instances where my own gut feeling was that you are right about something. However, that isn't the case. You are wrong about no one else being interested in Obama's relationship to and comments re: Jeremiah Wright.

Quote:
Obama aides believe John Kerry lost in 2004 because he failed to respond to the "Swift Boat" ads attacking him, and they are lashing out. Sometimes the Obama objections have merit, as when they exposed errors in Jerome Corsi's sensationalized Obama biography. But sometimes they are designed to shut down legitimate questions. "They're terrified of people poking around Obama's life," one reporter told Gabriel Sherman at the New Republic. "The whole Obama narrative is built around the narrative that Obama and [campaign strategist] David Axelrod built, and, like all stories, it's not entirely true." The stakes are high. If the full story of Mr. Obama's relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright had been revealed before the Iowa caucus, he wouldn't have won.

Aides claim Mr. Obama "has taken voluntary transparency steps" that allow "his constituents, the media and his political opponents to fully examine him." In reality, anyone questioning the approved story line is liable to be ignored, misled or even bullied. This isn't what reporters expected when Mr. Obama began campaigning for a "new politics" that would bring honesty and openness to government.

Again, You don't demonstrate that Obama has done anything wrong except know people that couldn't be elected. Lets take Rezko. Lets be serious here. Is there really any story here? You guys repeat Rezko all of the time. But there is no evidence of the Obamas being greedy or criminal at all. They show a life of service to communities. If the Obamas were in to wealth honestly ask yourself. With Obamas credentials if wealth was his goal why in the hell would he have chosen community work? It doesn't make sense on its face.
What you hope isthat just a connection will throw a little dirt so Obama doesn't look so good.
Now Ayers, They served on the same board. Where have you seen Obama say he supports Ayers' background?

You just keep throwing the stuff and hoping it sticks. If you hav a specific crime that you can prove with actual evidence please do so. But you haven't shown anything but that they have known each other.

Well, someone who routinely operates at the edge of respectability may never cross the line. But on the other hand, such a person may become better aware of how to skillfully cross that line without being noticed.

No one alleges that Obama is stupid.

Just take a look at all the "coincidences" where something illegal or possibly detrimental to America is obviously going on all around Obama but, where everyone else involved in these matters is indicted or embarrassed, Obama appears to be clean.

But I could say that about many on all sides. McCain has dealt with any people who turned out to be crooks. I don't think McCain or Obama are the type to be on the take. Lets shelve this stuff. Like I said. If corruption or greed was the goal of either of these guys there would be some evidence that they had scored. McCain married all the money he needs. And the Obamas don't show any evidence of being motivated by it.
We did the exact same thing with Clinton. In the end after all the Whitewater stuff Clinton was exonerated from being involved in a scheme.
And remember how it started? With accusations. No evidence. Just accusations. Now we are going to do it again? Based on what? Lets not.

There is a big difference between dealing with someone who turns out to be a crook and Reverend Wright...

If it was found that a criminal had dealings with a candidate, that's one thing...

But if the candidate was going around telling everyone that that that criminal SHAPED THEIR MINDSET, I think you'd agree that that's FAAAAR worse...Any future decisions that candidate makes is questionable based on the candidate's relationship with their "teacher"...

And that's the problem...The Rev wasn't "some guy Obama knew"...he was Obama's path...his spiritual leader...His mentor...

It's absolutely impossible for Obama to make decisions in his life (or will make) that didn't have influence from 20 years of Wright's sermons, discussions, and ideology...It's absurd to sit there and think "Obama took in the good stuff and discounted the bad stuff"...Even if one were crazy enough to believe that, than I ask..."Why would you follow someone like that in the first place?...Couldn' find anyone that DIDN'T say vile things you need to discard?"...

You keep saying that but Barack says he believes "A" and Wright says he believes "B". Now as far as Obama attending the church or being led by Wright. He liked Wright. Apparently until Wright was making more and more ridiculous comments. Then he dropped him. Obama has never said that he agreed with any of those few comments of Wrights. So where is the story. He thought someone was doing good work. And when he decided the guy was screwing it up with his own rhetoric he dropped him. You seem to want to believe that all Rev. Wright did for 20 years his hang out with Obama and say anti American things. You know that that isn't the case. And I keep saying this and I will say again. Where is the proof that Obama associates himself with Wrights beliefs. There is none. So isn't it interesting how much a non story has been played over and over again.

BTW is Wright anti American in your view?
