Default McCain released three new ads with multiple false and misleading claims about Obama's

McCain released three new ads with multiple false and misleading claims about Obama's tax proposals.

Quote:
A TV spot claims Obama once voted for a tax increase "on people making just $42,000 a year." That's true for a single taxpayer, who would have seen a tax increase of $15 for the year – if the measure had been enacted. But the ad shows a woman with two children, and as a single mother, she would not have been affected unless she made more than $62,150. The increase that Obama once supported as part of a Democratic budget bill is not part of his current tax plan anyway.

A Spanish-language radio ad claims the measure Obama supported would have raised taxes on "families" making $42,000, which is simply false. Even a single mother with one child would have been able to make $58,650 without being affected. A family of four with income up to $90,000 would not have been affected.

The TV ad claims in a graphic that Obama would "raise taxes on middle class." In fact, Obama's plan promises cuts for middle-income taxpayers and would increase rates only for persons with family incomes above $250,000 or with individual incomes above $200,000.

The radio ad claims Obama would increase taxes "on the sale of your home." In fact, home-sale profits of up to $500,000 per couple would continue to be exempt from capital gains taxes. Very few sales would see an increase under Obama's proposal to raise the capital gains rate.

A second radio ad, in English, says, "Obama has a history of raising taxes" on middle-class Americans. But that's false. It refers to a vote that did not actually result in a tax increase and could not have done so.

These ads continue what's become a pattern of misrepresentation by the McCain campaign about his opponent's tax proposals.

Factcheck is correct but missus an important angle to this...

Obama endorses the REMOVAL of Bush's tax cuts and will make every attempt to deny their permanency...

That is a "raise"...the Dems aren't calling it one, but that's exactly what it is...When someone pays "x" one year and then has to pay "x+y" the next, that is a raise...

If someone began extolling the virtues of the kind of Rum used in the party punch that is to be served and they engage you in a discussion where you compared recipes for Plantation Punch versus the other types of punch, you might lose track of the most important feature of this particular batch.

It's got a big fat greasy turd floating in it.

Now, tell me again exactly how important any discussion of the Rum is. Whether we are talking about how much of it should be used, the brand of Rum, what flavors or spices are used in it, what fruit juices or mixers were used or where the liquor was distilled is really secondary to the fact that there is a big fat greasy turd floating in it.

Well, to me, any discussion of Obama's proposed policies and tax amounts and etc. are all secondary to the fact that he is not well suited for the job.

His disqualifying traits and factors are in the areas of:

Heritage, People, Methods, Inexperience, Judgment, Policies and Character.

Anti-Obama books are bestsellers despite little coverage by media

Three anti-Obama releases were in the top 20 of Amazon.com's bestseller list on Tuesday, despite little critical attention or mainstream media coverage.

"There's a pent-up demand from people on the right side of the aisle who feel that the mainstream media is effusively covering Barack Obama and not critically covering him," says Marji Ross, president and publisher of the conservative Regnery Publishing, Inc., which just released David Fredosso's "The Case Against Barack Obama."

Until recently, the most widely read narrative of Obama's life was written by Obama, in the million-selling "Dreams From My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope." The new releases, like McCain's campaign ads, attempt a counter-narrative.

The subtitles are the giveaway: Jerome Corsi's "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality," Fredosso's "The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate" and Dick Morris's "Fleeced: How Barack Obama, Media Mockery of Terrorist Threats, Liberals Who Want to Kill Talk Radio, the Do-Nothing Congress, Companies That Help Iran, and Washington Lobbyists for Foreign Governments Are Scamming Us ... and What to Do About It."

The authors allege that Obama is not a benign spokesman for hope and unity, but an ideologue with close ties to 1960s radicals and the Chicago political machine. Corsi is already known as a co-author of "Unfit for Command," the influential attack against the war record of Sen. John Kerry, the Democrats' presidential candidate in 2004. Fredosso is a reporter for National Review Online, while Morris is a former aide to President Clinton who has since made a career of bashing Democrats.

I agree with FactCheck,These ads continue what's become a pattern of misrepresentation by the McCain campaign about his opponent's tax proposals. Now we can split hairs but there is no doubt in my mind that McCain's camp is willfully misrepresenting Obama's tax proposals! Hey..that's their job right? I mean take a close look at McCain's team and tell me they are not pathetic! It's no skin of my back,I'm supporting Bob Barr. I do enjoy the back and forth between the Obama camp and the McCain camp, who wouldn't? I have made countless anti Obama posts,I just want to point out that McCain's camp is producing BS out of desperation. I mean like some of you have already said..McCains got this election all sewed up,why risk losing the election with these cheap shots at Obama? If McCain ends up losing the election it could well be due to a very poor team and their equally poor strategy!

That was a gift. Not a tax break. Look who received it.

I looked and YOU didn't. The lowest bracket was removed totally from tax. The next higher bracket got the largest % of decrease and the next bracket a lower %age decrease and so forth up till the highest bracket that got the least % of decrease. But then of course you haven't even begun to factor in the extra $1000 child credits that will go away too.
Come on now I proved to you several times now that liberals are just plain WRONG in many of the things that they like to spout that are simply liberal talking points that refuse to let the facts get in the way.

And when MORE "someone elses" pay "x-y", do you still call it a "raise"?
I'm betting if you're Republican and it's in the Democrat's plan ...
