The logic is absolutely pathetic...

They smear Obama by telling everyone how OTHERS are going to smear Obama...

This is either done by Clinton supporters or a rediculous attack on future tactics that may or may not even come to frution...

Being the New Yorker, the GOP doing this is NOT an option, but this is example 8 gazillion of the Left telling us what's GONNA happen by doing it themselves...

Looks like there is an update to the article:

UPDATE -- Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton says: “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree."

It's a ballsy cover and I don't think the New Yorker will be getting any points from the Obama camp. Then again, it's in line with what Obama seems to be preaching.

The fist bump is pretty accurate. It shows Obama's solidarity with political activism and/or terrorist in a very metaphorical way:



Even though it's Michelle Obama sporting an AK47, Bill Ayers without an afro comes to mind. God bless his America hating heart.

You, in all your impotency, have not demystified "poo poo"...what you have attempted, in a "pre-school" way, is the further character assassination of Obama and, unbelievably, that of "his wife", that the New Yorker, unequivocally did, while calling it something else.
It will be reviled and denounced, from most quarters, in short order.

Yeah, I saw that on the news this morning. Not funny at all. Satire my arse. don't know the source or who OK'd this cover, but pro-Obama or even neutral don't come to mind.
A serious WTF?? moment for me and I don't even support the guy.

This is the kind of thing that I believe will help get Obama elected.

Nobody with any intelligence or sense of justice is going to go along with this kind of back-handed "satire."

I have sent my letter off to them. Sadly I had no subscription to cancel. But I am very pleased with the outrage. They have it coming. I saw the editor on the tube this morning. If he is so friggin dumb that he didn'y expect the uproar then he needs a new job. Because he isn't qualified for the job he holds.

While I whole-heartedly disagree with the New Yorker's move, I think you have the tense in your statement wrong.

They are talking about how others HAVE SMEARED Obama.
None of this is new.

The "terrorist fist jab" was brought up by a Fox News reporter, once again showing how "Fair and Balanced" they are amongst statements of "Baby Mama" and wishing for Obama's death...

Obama has an entire web-site to fighting these stupid internet lies. I receive a couple spam "Obama" slurs in my e-mail a week.
For some reason, I'm evidently not on the e-mail list for the McCain "slurs"...

Others HAVE ALREADY SMEARED Obama, so let's cut the crap of pretending that the first bomb hasn't already dropped...

While their approach is very messed up, the SUBJECT MATTER is VERY real.
