Flippity-floppity...Welcome to Kerry 2.0...

Obama: J'lem must remain an undivided capital

Quote:
Delivering his first public address since claiming victory in his quest for the Democratic presidential nomination, Barack Obama tried to make the case on Wednesday that no one should question his support for Israel and argued that he was the best candidate when it came to the Jewish state's security...

...He staked out some hawkish positions, declaring that "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided," and termed Israel's attack in September on Syria's alleged incipient nuclear facility "entirely justified to end that threat."
So that's what he TOLD the Jewish contigency...

Now let's see what happens when the time comes to stop pandering...

Obama clarifies united J'lem comment

Quote:
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama did not rule out Palestinian sovereignty over parts of Jerusalem when he called for Israel's capital to remain "undivided," his campaign told The Jerusalem Post Thursday.

"Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided," Obama declared Wednesday, to rousing applause from the 7,000-plus attendees at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee policy conference.

But a campaign adviser clarified Thursday that Obama believes "Jerusalem is a final status issue, which means it has to be negotiated between the two parties" as part of "an agreement that they both can live with."

"Two principles should apply to any outcome," which the adviser gave as: "Jerusalem remains Israel's capital and it's not going to be divided by barbed wire and checkpoints as it was in 1948-1967."

He refused, however, to rule out other configurations, such as the city also serving as the capital of a Palestinian state or Palestinian sovereignty over Arab neighborhoods.
So he comes out and tells the Jewish committee that Jeruselum "MUST REMAIN UNDIVIDED"...

...Only to have his advisor come out and say "Only if all sides agree"...

Are they dumb enough to think Palestine will agree?...

Of course not...He just said what wanted to be heard, then when the conference is over, let's just shift back into "negotiate with terrorist" mode...

Example #3400 of the "great communicator" coming out and saying one thing only to have his supporters tell us what he REALLY meant...

Maybe he was for the undivided Jeruselum before he was against it...

Pandering to AIPAC is a sad thing to watch. I don't care if it is divided. It isn't Israels anyway. So its another land grab. And another reason we are seen as being in Israels pocket. And its why we will can not be a fair broker for peace in the middle east.

But you cats go get them votes however you can.
