I speak very little in real life, yet I manage to say something stupid at least once or twice a day. If I hear something stupid from these guys every couple weeks, I have to say they are doing pretty damned well.

It was a historical event which changed a presidential race. It was a quick comparison because it was dramatic. But po', po' Obama...lawsy, e'rybody tryin ta keep da po', po' black man down. I'm getting sick of the race thing and how untouchable BHO thinks he is. Frankly, I am finding his whiny antics and his holier than thou demeanor a bit tiresome and a lot arrogant.

When he took to the camera with the audacity to WARN other campaigns not to raise his wife's spurious comments as an issue, I was done then. I had a lot of hope for Obama in the beginning. I thought he was going to break the race barrier and take the White House and I could have been proud of him for doing it. But now that the layers have been peeled back...
I am not trashing her. I am saying she had little enough business hanging on for a chance at the presidency. Given the numbers. And I think her only hope was a gaffe by Obama.
She made a mistake. I think she new it when it came out of her mouth. Because you can see she losses track of her sentence after that comment. I am looking at what the press will do with this. I would be willing to cut all of them slack. But I ain't the boss. The media is.

Though she has now apologized for that very strange and tasteless comment to the Argus-Leader, this was not the first time she's said it. This from her interview with TIME Managing Editor Richard Stengel, published March 6:

TIME: Can you envision a point at which--if the race stays this close--Democratic Party elders would step in and say, "This is now hurting the party and whoever will be the nominee in the fall"?

CLINTON: No, I really can't. I think people have short memories. Primary contests used to last a lot longer. We all remember the great tragedy of Bobby Kennedy being assassinated in June in L.A. My husband didn't wrap up the nomination in 1992 until June. Having a primary contest go through June is nothing particularly unusual.

She knew what she was saying.

What does that have to do with what I just said?

His article showed that she said it PREVIOUSLY...

So it's illogical for her to think it was a mistake "when it came out of her mouth" if it "came out of her mouth" before...

If YOU thought something was a mistake if you said it, would say the very same thing later on?...I would like to think "no"...

No I mean how it came out made it look out of any reasonable context. IMO she was trying to mix two analogies. And when it came out sounding the way it did her mind started racing for a way out. But it was too late. And I think the reason it is sticking to her is because we have all thought the same thing. If she meant it that time in that context I can't say. But it almost doesn't even matter.

This is pretty much what I was thinking about it. It's sad that such a small thing is going to end such a persistent battle.

She said it before and the two campaign seasons are entirely different. The first primary back then wasn't even held until March and there was still a long way to go in June.

And don't believe for a minute it was an off the cuff remark she made, that was spin coming out of her meetings with he staff.

You know its funny, The only thing I just said was she screwed up and said out load what many of us assumed. And you and I are arguing? Its like you can't be happy enough. You always want to assume the very worst about her. I get you don't like her. I'm not covering for her. I just don't think she is the anti christ. She is a politician. Just like the rest. If you know one that wont spin you, you vote for them. I have never seen such an animal.

You said her mind started racing as soon as she said it,

when that is apparently not the case at all, it wasn't until someone pointed out what she had said, said TWICE, the first time a few weeks ago.

Has her mind been racing since then?

This was a planned statement, it is was a very stupid one.

Then you said

I don't think "we all" have thought the same thing even once.

And no I don't have a very high opinion of her at all ands make no bones about it, never have going back to when her husband was the AG of Arkansas and I travel Arkansas extensively those days and knew of them quite well. But I argue the facts, my opinions of her and her husband are based on the facts surrounding their careers in public service.

I don't understand how it works. But you always have me saying what I didn't say. I give up with ya. I would try to explain it again but you would parse my words just to argue, Its pointless.
