It's an endless source of "strawman" material for him...

Did anybody here drop the "race card"?

But it allows him to complain about it...

Why don't I just quote some racists in regards to Obama and use that against cnredd!

Default Lay off my wife he says

WASHINGTON - Democrat Barack Obama has a message for Tennessee's Republican Party: "Lay off my wife."

Obama, his party's presidential front-runner, and his wife, Michelle, were asked in an interview aired Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America" about an online video last week by the state's GOP taking her to task for a comment some considered unpatriotic.
"The GOP, should I be the nominee, can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record," Obama said. "If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family."
He called the strategy "low class."

Lay of those who are commenting on the political process Mr. Obama.

Earth to the Obama's. Mrs. Obama will be a subject of commentary up until the day of the general election and if he wins afterwards. You have elected to put her on the political stage. You have elected to have her speak as to what SHE thinks as to HER perceptions of our country about what SHE thinks needs to be done and reports are she has been speaking in a bigoted manner towards "whitey" in he church you attend.

You are not a member of an annoited class, who can say and do what you please and everyone is banned from commenting on it.

Get used to it, if you can't stand the heat don't go into the kitchen and don't insult us by demanding we shut up and listen to your wife's hysterical ramblings.

Let's see...

Obama has a problem with people criticizing his spouse when she speaks as part of his campaign???...

Maybe this just means "only if they have a vagina", because Obama thinks differently when it's HIMSELF doing the criticizing...

"This has become a habit, and one of the things that we're going to have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he's making statements that are not factually accurate," Obama added.
Seems when the Tennessee GOP ALSO believes that Obama's wife has "taken HER advocacy on behalf of HER HUSBAND to a level that they think is pretty troubling", THEN he whines that it's off-limits...

Look Bill Clinton has been linked to Hillary in negative ways too. And so I agree that they all are doing it. But has any of it been really accurate. The point was that the right is pushing a false story. Even after they know the facts they don't stop. Who was it that pointed out that Hitler said if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it. And thats my point. I initially took the statement as some of you did. But after I educated myself about her comments I stopped being ticked. So lets get past this BS story. Shall we.

Barack Obama, today:

"But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable... For people who purport to be promoters of family values, who claim that they are protectors of the values and ideals and the decency of the American people to start attacking my wife in a political campaign I think is detestable."

The DNC, an entire five days ago:

"Unless John McCain's idea of being a different kind of Republican means disrespecting the voters by denying them the right to examine the links between his political career and the McCains' business ventures, he should immediately release Cindy McCain's tax returns," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Damien LaVera."
yeah...

Let's not make the wives an issue...

When a candidates wife speaks on the record it's fair game. Most attacks on a candidates family backfire and the political pundits and party strategists do so at their own peril.

I'm going to say this one more time. If she is on the stump she is fair game. Thats fine. Thats not the problem here. The situation is they are lying about what she was saying. Thats the issue at hand.

But this is a case of republicans wanting to fain ignorance in order to push a false story that they already know the facts of. Its another case of that good old Christian bearing false witness thing.
You know the truth but spread the rumor. And this from the racist bible belt.
This is not from, but to the bible belt. These ads and radio talk shows are doing the back door work for their party!
At the same time, I believe, Michelle stuck her foot in it. She said something political and, yes, in some people's minds, unpatriotic.
You play you pay.
