Once again, there was no knockout punch or major screwup...This was closer than the first debate, but there wasn't a 'winner" that won by so much that it was a game changer...

BUT "Who won" isn't really the major question...

The REAL question is "Did the debate change your opinion?"...

For that Ryan was probably the winner...and here's why...

Other than the final night of the Republican Convention, most non-politicos know "of" Paul Ryan, but don't "know" Paul Ryan...

So the biggest question to be answered last night was "Is this Paul Ryan guy level-headed enough and has the correct makeup to be sitting in the office of Vice President?"

...and Ryan succeeded in making that answer a "yes"...

Simply saying "Biden won" doesn't do much for someone sitting in their barcalounger thinking "A guy whose been in politics since France was known as "Gaul" is debating a guy whose been on the national stage for less than a year"...This should be a wipeout bigger than Romney over Obama in debate-1"...only to see non-wipeout debate where the "new guy"...Even if you don't consider Ryan the winner...at the very least held his own and shown he's qualified to be in the VP seat...

The number of non-politicos who went into the debate thinking "I'm thinking about voting for Obama, but I don't know much about this Biden guy" is minimal at best....

But the number of non-politicos who went into the debate thinking "I'm thinking about voting for Romney, but I don't know much about this Ryan guy" was probably a pretty large number...

Well now they do know...and there's no way in hell the answer to the question "Can you see Ryan being VP?" did NOT go from "I don't know" to "Yeah...I can see that."...

My thoughts on Biden reaching independents:

Biden, through his propensity for saying exactly what he means, has been in the news only when he says something that can be seen as a sound byte.

Much of the corporate media reports these things as gaffes...and maybe they are.

Last night, he showed himself knowledgable about all the issues, quick on his feet, sincere, gregarious, and determined to let the middle class that he is a fighter for him.

He wasn't the accidentally honest sound byte guy...he was the serious public servant people need to see.

Sums it up for me. Imperfect night for Ryan but Biden just *ssholed his way into a loss.
I did a quick point count on each segment of the debate. Biden won.
My assessment was confirmed by the callers to cspan afterward.
Independents seemed to move closer to Obama/Biden, while Democrat callers went gagga over Joe and Republican callers whined about his style.

The serious public servant smiling and shaking his head from side to side as if in bemusement when they were discussing the brutal murder of our ambassador and 3 other Americans in Libya. The enraged ideologue shouting "get out of the way" at the prospect of reaching accross the aisle. The president of a Senate that hasn't so much as considered a budget in over 3 years. Yeah sure, that is a serious public servant if the job is dogcatcher.

Do a little research on how the great champion of the middle class earned the nickname MBNA Joe. Take a look at the tax increases he claims will only apply to millionaires, the real number is $200K. How about the great job Biden's policies have done on the median income, it is only down $4,000. New Obamacare taxes. Rising food and gas prices. College tuition and utility prices skyrocketing. How much more of Biden's " help" can the middle class stand.

Not a chance. What made you think his performance last night laughing and guffawing like a moron changed anyone with a pre-concieved notion this guy is an idiot into thinking he is bright?

I was trying not to cuss so much on here but need to make an exception for the rest of this post.

In the last two weeks we as the citizens of the USA have had our top leadership give us two performances that basically amount to F*CK YOU!

A president that won't take the time or apparently even a f*cking nap in preperation to debate a challenger and acts like all of this appealing to the people is a bore. High unemployment, failing economy, out of control debt? "You would think they would be thanking me!"-BHO. Now you think I should have to actually run again? F*CK YOU! Ungrateful bastards. I'm Borat F*cking Obama! I don't have time for this sh*t!

And this *sshat biden follows right up. Common sentiment and lockstep feelings toward every citizen like his boss. Just laughs through unemployment, losing homes, insists raising taxes is just fine, guffaws his way through four people getting killed on his watch and a country like Iran getting a f*cking nuke? Really? Laughing like a complete idiot, waving his arms around like a priviledged little f*ck that doesn't care how bad the last four years have been. You should be grateful he even thought of your lowly *ss, chuckle, snicker, guffaw, F*CK YOU!

You seriously think independents bought this two week clown show of F*CK YOU?

Checked the old blood pressure lately? And don't keep on forgetting who tanked the economy in the first place.

Ya know, since I've been in Tx taking care of my parents, the only computer I have is an iPad. The thing has a real bad habit of guessing what word I want to use.

Sometimes, I look over a post I made (after the edit time allowed, of course) and I'm astonished at what my post says and the typos that occur.

I apologize that, due to my iPad, the words that I mean to type are changed, thus rendering my post typing error filled.

The above sentence should read: Last night, he showed himself knowledgable about all the issues, quick on his feet, sincere, gregarious, and determined to let the middle class know that he is a fighter for them.

Please bear with me and my typos.
