I have no clue as to whether these poll takers are on the same wavelength as I am, but I say Mitt Romney won...

And here's why...

PERSONALLY, I put both candidates on a "six" from a scale of 1-to-10...neither candidate delivered a knockout punch, nor did either fumble in a major way...I would say it was pretty even, and no CLEAR winner...

But that's disastrous for Obama...

For four years, Obama and his mistresses in the media have been telling us that Obama is the Lord-God-Mythological Hero of Speak-a-ger-y...the Orator of the Universe...The Master of the Lexicon...The Commodore of Communications...

That means on a scale of 1-to-10, Romney was SUPPOSED to be a "six" (tops), but Obama was supposed to be a 492...

In other words, Obama showed the public what the media has been trying to hide for quite awhile now...That he is a mere mortal...

Romney being shown as a mere mortal is expected, but Obama being a mere mortal is a felony...It destroys the myth of the false image that's been presented to this country through the use of teleprompters and a media that has desperately tried to frame a narrative...

I recently thought the media would adorn Obama and declare him the winner irrelevant of what was said...I see that I was as wrong as wrong can be...

The media is PISSED that Obama turned their false narrative on it's head and the public now knows what's some of us has known all along...The Emperor has no clothes...

So the media is giving him the "How dare you make us out to be liars we are!" treatment, and the proverbial cat is out of the bag...

Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned, and being Obama's scorned bitch is now the media's new position...

I think Romney knew he had to come on strong and that's why he seemed a bit animated. Willard is also a chameleon and he's caught several opponents off guard with a sudden change of policy. When someone holds both positions on every issue the opponent never knows for sure what position he will take at airtime.

Look for that to change in the next debate but in the meantime, look for the polls to even up a bit. With unemployment still at 8% +,I'm not sure Obama can afford to let the next debate slip due to a lack of passion or premature confidence.

And in the next round, we will see a much more prepared and engaged Obama. To be sure..this debate was no game changer and no knockout punch was delivered but Obama needs to pickup the pace and take Romney more to task when he sees an opening.
I agree with that, but obama has to be careful not to look like a bully next time. If he comes out to aggressive it can blow up in his face, especially if he gets his facts wrong, or he just starts spouting myths about Romney. But doing so he would win the debate, but lose more ground with the electorate.

This was Romney's chance to inform us of his plan on a huge stage. For someone who kept interrupting Lehrer to talk longer, he sure blew the opportunity by talking about nothing.

Overall the debate revealed little. Neither will receive a huge bounce or be considered the clear winner in this one.

If you go to the scorecards I will give the edge to Obama.

Round 1 - Obama

Round 2 -

Round 3 -
Hmmm.....

I saw something different......I figured Obama would be "on" for the challenge but, he wasn't last night.....

~ Round One: Huge win for Team Romney

ROMNEY A-

OBAMA C-

Mitt did exactly what he needed to do. He kept Obama playing defense and kept the pressure off himself and focused on spending.....
Did you notice that Obama's style was nothing like 08...? He had to use up a lot of time defending his record and he didn't make as many promises or bold statements. He was toned down, and didn't look anywhere near as exciting as he did against McCain....

Bottom line: Mitt didn't **** up and was well prepared. I guess those months of two hour debate sessions paid off huh......

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ
~Phillipians 1:6

My position is that the good work was salvation and God promises that His side of the deal will be held to perfectly. My good friend who's house we were at Wednesday night contends that the good work is sanctification and that this verse describes the on-going regenerative process of that sanctification. That word that gets translated as "perform" is defined as:
1.to bring to an end, accomplish, perfect, execute, complete
A.to take upon one's self
B.to make an end for one's self
a.to leave off
2.to appoint to, impose upon

It's not describing a process, but a done deal. Sancitification is a process, salvation is a yes or no. I think that I won the debate based on this definition.

You have to admit though. This sets Obama up for a big comeback. Expectations games being what they are.

Anyone who claims that Obama won or even tied it that debate proves that they have absolutely no ability to be objective.

Well, maybe yes but, he's still got to defend his record and that takes up half his time.....

Mitt can promise the moon and point fingers all day long.....

What worked for Obama back in 08 is working for Romney today......

Kind of ironic, huh......

Round 1 - Obama

Round 2 -

Round 3 -
Million dollar Obama donor Bill Mahr thought Obama got his clock cleaned. Looking at the substance of the debate Obama had no answer for why he hadn't pursued recommendations of his hand-picked deficit commission, no answer for the $90 billion wasted on green energy and no response when Romney called him out for the fiction of the tax code rewarding companies for moving overseas. Style wise Obama spent most of the time Romney was speaking staring at the podium or into space. Romney was focused on Obama's responses often making quick notes for his response. He was energized, not nervous.

I don't know what debate you watched but the moderator chided Obama for going over time at least as much as Obama. I liked that the moderator didn't interfere with the debate a lot.

I think although Romney had a better debate he has set himself up for a rougher road than he had before. He has now committed himself to positions that he has been running away from for months. He has finally settled on a policy on taxes and he won't be able to change his tune again without getting himself into trouble, so in the end I think that benefits Obama more.

there are very few undecided voters left out there and Romney might pick up a few more of those, but will he pick up enough to make up for the base voters he threw under the bus pandering to the undecided ?... For instance over the last 18 months he's been campaigning and telling his rich donors and others that they were going to get a tax cut if he is elected. People in the Middle class have been told they will get a tax cut. His base has been supporting him because he has promised lower taxes for everyone.
Now we find out, and he basically wrote it in stone in the debate, that no one is really getting a tax cut and in fact if you do the math people in the middle class will end up paying higher taxes.

Yep.. he might have won this one battle, but he still has a long way to go to win the war. Obama is still leading in the swing states and of course the second debate is just around the corner.
