Some people are completely lost. Republicans need to distance themselves from this bafoon like the plague.

It was a mis-speak.
Judging from history, there's obviously an issue with some Republican politicians acknowledging the significance of rape. Treating it like it is less significant than it is.
The misspeak would be in voicing that opinion...

Case in point:
http://www.politicalwrinkles.com/us-...gang-rape.html
30 Senate Republicans voted against a simple amendment that withholds defense contracts from companies "if they restrict their employees from taking workplace sexual assault, battery and discrimination cases to court."

Obviously, trying to restrict employees from taking such cases to court is something that should not occur.
30 Senate Republicans have no problems with companies restricting their employees from taking sexual assault cases to court...

Yeah, that's why Jewishness is determined by matrilineal descent; because "legitimate" rape "rarely" leads to pregnancy.
He apologized but who would be dumb enough to ramble on about something this touchy in politics when it is obvious he doesn't know his arse from a Whipple tree?

Stupid Missouri. They should have listened to Sarah Palin and the tea party, and gone with Sarah Steelman.

Arkin just gave a Senate seat to the Democrat, MacCaskill, who is so bad I say Missouri deserves to continue being screwed by her for being idiots on picking Arkin, but damn...a senate seat. Can't just give those away like that.
Whats your beef with MacCaskill?

Even Republicans seem to be after this guy now. They want to know how to get rid of him, or get him to step down. These are Republican Tweets.

Some Republicans say Rep. Todd Akin should step down; Updated | Twitchy

He's got one ally left. That would be Dana Loesch - who I was bragging up earlier. I don't back her play, but I get it. It's her way. Once she's on your side she doesn't want to back away from it, and she's a battler.

Actually she's not supporting Akin's remark. It's more like "Give him a chance to redeem himself", and where were these self-righteous attack dogs when Occupy rapes were being denied or ignored, or when the liberal in-group was telling us the Polanski case wasn't "rape rape".

I think though it's more she doesn't want to desert somebody who was on her side, plus she could almost taste that senate seat. I can't be with her here though, because it seems to me Akin is the sort of idiot who will make this kind of slip-up a habit. He would turn out to be our Joe Biden, except the liberal media wouldn't let him walk on his screw-ups. Can't afford him, I say. If it's possible, burn him away from the root quick.

She's one of those "I'm with you guys" to her constituents, when she's running, then she gets to Washington and forgets where Missouri is. She's more into playing the Washington big shot.

Missouri rejects Obamacare by 75%, and she backs it. Missouri's a coal state, and she wants to kill the coal jobs. Like that...

Also she has that irritating Prog habit of thinking people are stupid, and they can't tell what obvious BS sounds like.

It wasn't in the headline. The headline is what you read on a list of news for the day. If you are interested you click on it and go to the article. There it does have a short synopsis so you can skip it or read further.
