From the president's campaign speech at Roanoke on Friday:
Quote:
No wonder the economy is in such bad shape. This guy doesn't have a clue. Hard work doesn't make you succeed. The government does. Wow!!

First you say " No Mr. President you and your Government had nothing to do with my success, I worked hard and made my own way. The Government has nothing to do with me or my Success".....
Then you turn to your left and say " Hey Mr. President, Where's all those Jobs you promised us"..... He's saying that no one has become successful all by themselves. Taking him out of Context and plucking little tid-bits out of his words to create talking points is dishonest and disingenuous, But I expect it from Conservatives. |

It's amazing what you can invent when you are vested in attack and hate. That is not Obama was saying and only a hack wouldn't understand that.

If I were Obama's adviser, I would not have suggested or recommended he make these comments. This will die out in a couple days, but ill-advised words nonetheless.
The speech is based on the "more government" platform and ideologies Democrats believe in. His words are also an argument as to why we need more taxes. Obama is attempting to argue we need the government to have a heavy presence in our lives because without it, no one can succeed and all of our successes are a direct result of the government. Personally I disagree with this philosophy. I believe you make your own success in life.

I'm not sure how else to interpret this then: ...Hard work doesn't make you succeed. The government does. Wow!!
