What's cute about that article is it doesn't mention the earmarks to another 30+ hospitals in the state of Illinois that Obama earmarked too...Not just the one associated to his wife, but 30 other hospitals that his wife wasn't associated to?
Oh, but because his wife was loosely related with one of those hospitals, let's make it a big deal and make a bunch of ado about nothing...
Hey redd? Did you know in the state of Illinois, that hospitals are closing right and left because of non-funds? That those earmarks had nothing to do with Obama or his wife, but because us Illinois constituants asked for those earmarks as well? And one of the other Senators that also asked for those same earmarks, who isn't running for President, did so because I was one of those voters that asked for the funding towards facilities and groups we believe need extra funding to stay operational? To keep our medical access here in Illinois, not having to go out of state for more advanced medical treatements?
Heck, in my area alone, we needed the earmarks to open up a children's specialty system...For pre-natal, early birth, and infant care. Cause our area just isn't equipped to handle certain emergency situations...To get the best/proper care, families have to go to Missouri...And it's expensive to say the least, to have a child medi-vaced to St. Louis, our closest infant emergency care facility...And if you're poor or on state medical payment...You can hang it up unless you can get a donation drive going to help. Cause the funding just isn't there.
Yep, go check out the earmarks Costello asked for...You'll see earmarks asking for funds directed towards our local hospitals as well...And throughout the state in fact...And I really doubt that Costello was asking for those funds so Obama's wife or his family member who's associated with any one of the earmarked groups asking for funds...But because us voters are wanting more modern technology available, as well as funding to keep those hospitals open cause they're falling to the wayside because of underfunding, understaffed, and too many non-payers utilizing those facilities?
He also asks for earmarks to our 3 local colleges, as well as programs for childcare for those in school, and a whole lot of other earmarks we've asked him to help us get funding for on a state level...
Ohhhh, but let's paint it as something 'sinister' why don't we...You have it your way, then no voter group can approach their congressman for state funding help on anything, especially if any of their family members just might be loosely associated with said group asking for the funds...
The smell of fear from those of you that are anti-Obama is affecting those of us who need monies to keep our hospitals, schools, and state/county/city projects from being kept going or having any hopes for the future. Ya'll are so desperate to find things to fault Obama with, you don't realize that those earmarks that weren't granted didn't hurt them...But hurt the organizations/groups seeking the funds to help the people who needed them the most.
Obama didn't lose out. Costello didn't lose out. Their families associated with those instances didn't lose out...Who lost out was the patients (elderly and children) who lost out cause the places they go to for medical help didn't have the funds to give them the appropriate care they needed...Or the financial reserves available in order to receive what limited care that could have been available.
Very real people lost out when those earmarks were denied. And your trying to use that as dirt against Obama, seem to lose sight of who those funds were for, not who it wasn't for. In fact, you don't have a clue just how much those earmarks would have helped out in my neck of the woods, for my family and myself as well...
