Pelosi: Joint Ticket Impossible
(CNN) — A so-called "dream ticket" scenario - the idea that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama could join forces this fall — may have gripped the imaginations of Democrats nationwide - but you can list House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as a skeptic. "I think that ticket either way is impossible," Pelosi told a New England Cable News reporter Tuesday, pointing to comments from Clinton and her campaign that implied Republican John McCain would make a better commander-in-chief than Obama. "I think that the Clinton administration has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that Senator McCain would be a better commander-in-Chief than Obama," she said. She spoke bluntly about her view that a joint ticket was not in the cards, she said, because "I wanted to be sure I didn't leave any ambiguity." The California Democrat, who has remained neutral throughout the party's primary process, said she remains an uncommitted superdelegate. I hate to say this, but I fear an Obama/Clinton in any order...And I don't fear for myself as a Republican...I fear the Democratic backlash...
Remember when someone said that if Obama wins, the chances of a president getting shot would increase?... Well I believe that to be the case if EITHER candidate is on top of a combined ticket...Here's why... I've joked that if Clinton was VP, Obama would be dead in a week...That's tongue-in-cheek for saying how power hungry Hillary is...Would I seriously think that?...Nope... But I DO THINK a whacked out supporter of either just may do something like that...What would be different about this compared to the past?...I'll show you... When Carter picked Mondale to be his VP, was anyone out there in Democratic party thinking "I HATE Carter!...He should be gone so MY MAN Mondale can be president!"... Nope...Thre might've been people that would've RATHER had Mondale with Carter as VP, but the hatred simply wasn't there... Same thing with Reagan...There wasn't anybody in The Republican party who thought "I HATE Reagan!...He should be gone so MY MAN Bush41 can be president!"... Let's continue... Heard anyone say "I HATE Clinton!...He should be gone so MY MAN Al Gore can be president!"?... Nope...Didn't hear anything like that either...and no one in the Republican party said "I HATE Bush43!...He should be gone so MY MAN Dick Cheney can be president!"?... But that ends here... If EITHER Hillary or Obama becomes VP, there will be levels of mistrust, dislike, and sadly, downright hatred coming from a segment of both supporters...and that could lead to something drastic... We've already heards rumblings from extreme supporters that violence will happen if it appears "their candidate" wasn't done right by the Democratic party...If the loser ends up getting the "consolation prize" of vice president, I fear some will demand payback...
