Default Newt Gingrich Considers Sarah Palin as Vice President

Michael Allen on Dec 30, 2011

This week at a tele-town hall hosted by Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition, a caller asked Newt Gingrich if he would consider choosing former half-term Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Gingrich responded by saying that Palin “is certainly one of the people you would look at” and told the caller that he is “a great admirer of hers.”

"She is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, she’s somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities."

"There are also some very important Cabinet positions that she could fill very, very well. I can’t imagine anybody who would do a better job of driving us to an energy solution than Gov. Palin, for example. Tell her that she would certainly be on the list of one of the people we would consider."

As much as I loathe him, I find him better than Santorum or Perry.

- of course, she's not better than ANYbody

I'm beginning to think this whole primary is a charade to elect Mitt Romney the nominee..

the problem is that incumbent presidents rarely loose, so anyone whos not ridiculous and who actually knows what they are talking about is waiting for 2016. Which means we get to watch the five stooges battle it out to decide who gets to loose to Obama.

And yes im already calling it. The GOP frontrunners are all jokes who don't stand a chance. Its pathetic really. I think I'll refrain from voting this year.

I hope you're not serious.

But you made me laugh with the 3 stooges thing
However...notice MR is not saying a helluva lot; I think he's hoping to come out mostly unscathed and holding his punches till the general debates.

well i'll vote for Congress and local stuff, but unless something crazy happens I can't see me giving my support to any of the GOP frontrunners.

So a Big Government RINO considers the historically-challenged Palin as a VP choice?

Holy Marty McFly!

That worked wonders in 2008.

In the 2-weeks following Palin's nomination announcement, McCain's campaign contributions spiked up $10 million. He was able to surge from behind Obama to a small lead into late September with Palin on the ticket. So yeah, you are right, putting Palin on the ticket did work wonders for McCain's campaign.

I think she'd be a better choice as DOE head than VP based on her performance at the Alaskan state equivalent board. She would be a massive improvement over Chu the graftocrat passing out taxpayer funded rewards to politically well connected green energy boondoggles like Soilyndra.
