The seven GOP contenders in CNN's Monday debate

FYI

Quote:
(CNN) – CNN will hold the first Republican presidential debate in the critical early voting state of New Hampshire at 8 p.m. ET on Monday.

With the 2012 election a little less than a year and a half away, there are still prominent Republicans who have yet to make a decision on whether they'll make a run for the White House but other contenders have been running for months.

Here's a look at the seven people who will share the stage at Saint Anselm College in Manchester:

It seemed CNN sure wanted Romney to be the focus and so he was. Some gained ground others lost some.

Bachman- Gain, she was solid. Nothing way out there but a good showing to build from.

Gingrich- Gain, but slight. He has shining moments but tarnishes them a bit too fast. He needs to get on a roll soon.

Paul- Steady. He is who he is. What he says is correct in every way but I'm not sure what happens in the delivery. It's like he is too detailed and loses people. I love him but can see swing voters glass over. Too bad, he would be the best choice.

Cain- Steady. He needs to get a little more presence going to make a gain in this race.

Romney- Steady. Same boring progressive he's always been. He will tell you next week what you want to hear next week.

Santorum- Loss, really dude WTF? I don't even get this guy, nothing stands out, nothing hits any buttons, he's just there.

Pawlenty- Loss, Blew it by not nailing Romney, he set the ball on the tee and in the moment of truth took a practice swing.

Obama- Loss. So much for clear sailing to term two. For all the media depicting no Repub capable of beating him that sure isn't panning out. His record is easy to kick around.

I'm with the right wing blog Hot Air on this one.

The biggest winner for me was None of the Above. There is plenty of room for a charismatic, accomplished candidate to jump into this race and outshine the field as it stands at the moment. For some that will be Sarah Palin, but I’d say that the 2-hour performance was a gilt-edged invitation to Rick Perry to join the field and command the stage.
Who was the night’s biggest winner? Hot Air
