Sorry, but sometimes people just get it wrong, and it's not someone else's fault. This is especially true of political negative attack ads, I tend to take them with a mountain range of salt. Not a grain, not a mountain, but a whole f-cking range. It's partly why I have my cable box unplugged (That and most TV sucks and whatever I need I can get online.), I was over a friend's house yesterday , and there were the attacks ads on TV, including the one in question, f-ck 'em. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...-jobs-finland/

Actually if Stephanie Cutter had cut her ad based on Politifact's critique of AFP on Fisker I'd have less of a problem with it.
They're right with Fisker. It wasn't stimulus money, and that's what the AFP ad implies. Fisker got a DOE Loan, and the original plan for such loans was put forward under Bush. Nevertheless Solyndra was a loan too, and where's that money? Fisker is having all kinds of problems - battery recalls,a lawsuit, an investigation of its top venture capital raisers, and layoffs of dozens of “green jobs” that had been bragged about by the Obama administration, and loan stoppage. Also although the general DOE - ATVM plan was begun under Bush, but it was specifically for American jobs, and the Fisker part was signed under Obama. It's his baby. Joe Biden was there at the beginning grinning like a Monkey, and promising 2000 jobs in Delaware. I don't think there ever were more than 20. Nevertheless it's true, it wasn't the stimulus, and it wasn't tax credits like AFP claimed. It was a DOE loan. Cutter should have said that. She didn't. She's greasy. She can't even use the truth when she has it. Here's a guy fact checking the Cutter claims. Their claim she's full of it seems correct from what I can find. Obama's Green Cover-Up - GerriWillis.com Blog - Fox Business Here's a couple more if that won't do. Sens. Grassley, Thune Want Answers on Fisker Loan | National Legal and Policy Center Fisker on ropes? Delaware plant 'absolutely empty' Basically here's what happened... Joe Biden turns up in Delaware promising 2000 jobs by retooling a GM plant to make Fiskers. Biden To Announce Fisker Auto Plant In Wilmington Delaware | Emptywheel DOE initiates the loan by giving Fisker $193 million of a promised $ 529 million. "Two years after the loan was announced, the company's manufacturing jobs are still limited to the assembly of the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car in Finland." Fisker claims that's true, but ""There was no contract manufacturer in the U.S. that could actually produce our vehicle," the car company's founder and namesake told ABC News. "They don't exist here." Apparently grinning Joe's talk of "retooling" the GM plant was a bunch of crap. Also... "Henrik Fisker said the U.S. money has been spent on engineering and design work that stayed in the U.S., not on the 500 manufacturing jobs that went to a rural Finnish firm, Valmet Automotive." Car Company Gets U.S. Loan, Builds Cars In Finland - ABC News Money is fungible, you see. Car Company Gets U.S. Loan, Builds Cars In Finland - ABC News People start to complain about these jobs going to Finland. Issa and Thune start an investigation. The DOE freezes the rest of the loan. Fisker makes noises about no jobs for Delaware unless he gets the rest of the money. They shut down the Delaware plant. Stephanie Cutter puts out a video outraged that anybody would find anything wrong with any of that. Last edited by Infidel Dog; 05-06-2012 at 03:17 AM.. |

A war on marriage, it's like the sequel to the War on Christmas isn't it.
-palm- I might have to dial it back a bit on my anti-attack ad diatribe. Sometimes people really are just that out there, they say and do things that are so far out on the fringe of either wing, or just plain absurd, that it cannot be ignored. Rush has that effect, you try to go out and he pulls us right back in lol. Accusations of eating babies is still off-limits.
