Ron Paul's problem was his crazy ass supporters. They were nuts and gave his whole campaign a fringe reputation from the onset.
Ron Paul's problem was with his "crazy" supporters but it goes much deeper than that. When he "used" the GOP as a (vehicle) to gain more viability than he could have as an independent,the party didn't like it and the rest is history.
