Question Obama

The Obama Movement

Something is happnin here, what it is ain't exactly clear. There's a man at the podium there and many..against their better judgment or party affiliation are beginning to notice! As much as I try to ignore Obama as "one of those libs" I am haunted by his words. Words of Hope and Unity and admittedly..sincerity. I tell myself..Spencer..this guy lacks experience and polish,I can't possibly consider voting for him.Perhaps..just perhaps...something "special" is happening here! A chance..just a chance, that we can come together and begin to put the past behind us. You know what I'm talking about,I don't have to spell it out do I ? However..there is much more to my interest than healing the past,I also look to the future for that is even more important! Do I agree with Obama on everything? Certainly not but I do see potential.

Sentimental? maybe so but with Obama, the base alloy of Hope, the thing that made this nation great has not been boiled away from Obama's vision. At first..I chalked this idea of Hope and Change to Obama's lack of experience and naivety.God help me..I see something special in this simple man of hope and change,I no longer "automatically" dismiss him.

Obama..there's something special about you and Spencer is listening!

I hope you are listening to..............

Yes you are sentimental.
I'll take a wait and see attitude. A lot of people are starting to ask questions about Obama and Huckabee. But mostly about Obama.
Some of my very best friends are former Bobby K supporters. Some of them (like me) even voted for Regan. But hope is what this country is all about.
Clear vision would be a blessing for this country.
Youth has its drawbacks. But there is a fine line between knowing enough and still having the will to be a fighter and that age when you know things should be different, but you are tired and start to give in.
We'll see.

Sentimental enough to put partizan politics aside long enough to hear the man out! I have not decided who will get my vote,I'm still processing all of the rhetoric.

I'm a former RFK supporter as well and I also voted for Reagan not once but twice! All I am saying is that I am honestly willing to hear Obama out,yes..he seems too liberal for my taste. Do we sometimes let partisan politics muddle our vision? Absolutely..anyone who denies this is not being fully honest. Political philosophy matters a great deal. I'm fiscally conservative but socially liberal. It's a curse I tell ya.. My father never had such political problems,he automatically voted Democratic across the board! My grandmother was the same way except she was a staunch Republican. The very idea of voting for a Democrat was anathema to her.

I have made no decision,I'm still listening, with my heart and my mind. Unlike my "partisan"family members,I depend on both my heart and my mind to come to a final decision..

I will NEVER include "charm" and "quality of public speaking" as measures determining my vote...There nice things to have, but they aren't a substitute for substance...

I need even more than that...

The main reason Edwards didn't make it in '04 was because he was too inexperienced...And Obama has LESS than what Edwards had then...

To say that Obama is all charm and just a good speaker with no substance proves my point! For "whatever" reason, pure partisan or "other" reasons, some people refuse to listen! Let's not dismiss this man just yet, hear him out and then dismiss him if you believe he has no substance.I'm just not ready to dismiss him,I may do just that in the future months but for now,I will hear him out.In the end,you may find yourself not agreeing with the substance that "supposedly" he does not have..

And that's fine,it's called politics..

Experience isn't as important to me. Washington didn't have it. Niether did Jefferson or Adams. But they did OK. What gets me is the reasons people support someone. Or hate someone. They very seldom let reality or facts get in their way. I challenge any supporters to tell me his plan on Health care School costs or war. I would like to see it.

I appreciate the effort but I still see no specifics. Maybe its by design that he doesn't get specific. But its not helpful to me when making my choice.
