The latest Fox News/Rasmussen poll for the Senate, from Nevada, shows Sharron Angle ahead of Harry Reid by a scant two percentage points. But that is still within the margin of error. And with 18 days still left before Election Day, anything could happen.
The one (possible) saving grace for Sen. Reid is the "None of the Above" option that is on the Nevada ballot this year: Anyone who dislikes all of the candidates on the ballot, and wishes to vote for no independent candidate, may simply vote for "None of the Above." That is why Reid has been busily attempting to scare voters about Sharron Angle: She is (supposedly) an "extremist" who cannot be trusted with such an important position as US Senator. Reid knows that he is very unpopular in Nevada--a fact that is exacerbated by the apparent emergence of a Republican "wave" year, similar to 1994. But if he can just scare enough Nevadans into voting for the NOTA choice, he might just slip by, in a very close race. The fly in the ointment, however, is the fact that most Nevadans are telling pollsters that they will vote one way or the other, with 49 percent preferring Angle and 47 percent saying they will vote for Reid. What do others think? Will NOTA be just what Harry Reid needs to win re-election, despite his very low favorable ratings in Nevada? |

I am hoping so also. (If Nevadans don't get him this time, it will be another six years before the opportunity presents itself again; and even then, it may be in a year that is not nearly so toxic to incumbents--and especially to Democratic incumbents--as 2010 is).

In their last debate, Angle wiped the floor with Reid and even told him to "man up".

According to a relative of mine who traveled through there recently, Reid is not very well received by Nevadans at this time. Course that was a couple months ago. Anything is possible I guess.

You really DO need to man up and you have absolutely no idea how to do that. On topic, if Harry Reid is counting on people showing up in Nevada to vote for none of the above he is kidding himself. The Senate election is the main act, the headliner, and certainly not the warm-up band this year. No one takes the time to show up to vote and doesn't actually vote for the highest profile things...
