you are wrong.
if low income you can get a govt loan and take that money (paperwok) to any college. but crappy psuedo "colleges" have sprung up to try to getthat govt backed loan and they charge more than most private colleges for shiddy schooling.
I want acredited colleges only to receive them and better scrutiny on acrediting.

While it is true that the government backs these loans, simply relieving those still owing on them of the responsibility to pay them back has got to be one of the most ridiculous ideas being bandied about during this election.

I'm not sure where you are coming down on this topic as this sentence makes no sense. This isn't about someone looking after our tax dollars, it is about someone wanting to use them to buy votes from those that borrowed money for their degree in some worthless Liberals Arts major and cannot find a decent paying job to pay them back.

ok I don't know why but I thought this was about those pretend colleges.
I don't think student loans would be a problem if we had plenty of good-paying jobs and mortgages weren't fvcked up nine ways from Sunday.
I think she's approaching from the wrong way unless at the same time she aims to fix our economy and infrastructure.

Apparently you have not paid much attention to the job market in the past 3 years. There are PLENTY of jobs that are having trouble being filled. And I mean real jobs, not those jobs that Obama bragged about like mopping the floor at McDonald's.

Not sure what you are talking about concerning mortgages, perhaps you could elaborate.

As for Warren, her plan to fix the economy is to give everyone free stuff. While this plan may appeal to those that have never had to pay their own way in life, it is unlikely that her plans would do anything other than lead us down the road to Venezuela.

Question to the members here.

Has anyone ever had, or participated in, a student loan and paid it all back?
Do you have one on which you are now making payments?

As people who have actually and financially participated,,,; How do you feel about this offer to forgive out standing loans?

Yes, I had student loans 30 years ago to help cover the cost of my education. I paid them back in full in about 3 years.

As far as Warren's suggestion that we forgive these loans, that would be a slap in the face to ALL tax payers regardless of their having repaid their own loans or not. I would NEVER vote for ANYONE that thought this would be a good policy.

I don't think Democrats realize that this is not just a one time deal.

Once they start forgiving loans, it will snowball, no one will ever pay for college again. It will become government run college, just like China.

You don't think that is their intention? Not that it is currently an issue for them, but if the government runs all of the schools, they can set the curriculum anyway they choose. There are still a few colleges and universities that have not succumb to the left wing narrative yet. If the Dems get their way, that will change.
