No surprise that none of the most serious charges, stabbings and attacks on reporters met the DA's standards for charging. Expect the good professor turned assailant to plead down to a slap on the wrist.

That Felarca and Eric Clanton were charged at all in California is a surprise. Perhaps there is some temporary pressure to crack down on the violent ways of Antifa. Anti free speech and shutting down speakers is backfiring. Traditional liberals are challenging the events on college campuses. The Evergreen College coup has fortunately received some attention, although not from legacy media.

This clip is Shapiro's statement in the hearing, only 5 min. There's not too much controversy as far as I can tell, except where he bluntly bumps up against the Berkeley and Evergreen culture/ideology. See if you can detect a micro-agresssion.

Berkeley is preparing for the Ben Shapiro visit this Thursday. It's reported that a closed perimeter will be set up around the 2700 seat Zellerbach Hall but only half of that capacity will be allowed in. Counseling will be available for upset and worried students and faculty.

Dave Rubin comments on the upcoming Ben Shapiro appearance at Berkeley and the LA Times article "Berkeley Braces for Right Wing Talk Show Host Ben Shapiro". He calls it a "loaded combination of subtle bias and outright fake news". He offers another, more balanced headline. "Left Wing Berkeley Braces for Right Wing Talk Show Host, Ben Shapiro".
Hurricane Ben will be speaking tomorrow and Berkeley is bracing with cops and counselors.

Shapiro's short speech and following Q&A session afterward came off rather well. There were no disruptions during the event and it was evident that there were liberals in the audience that behaved themselves and were serious participants in the discussions. The contrast between what occurred inside Zellerbach Hall and what went on outside seems unreasonable. Over a half million dollars was spent on security that included hundreds of riot ready police officers, solid K type wall barriers, and a wide enforceable perimeter. There were some simple rules. No masks, no weapons. By the end of the evening there were 9 arrests, mostly for carrying banned weapons which could include polls that were attached to signs. There were some attacks on police but no one got hurt and property was preserved. The Berkeley Police were also allowed to carry pepper spray which had been banned a number of years back.
There's another contrast. In April of last year, Shapiro spoke at Berkeley without the help of a battle ready force and without incident. I'd like to know if the free counseling provided by the University this time was utilized and to what degree. What were the specific emotional or psychological traumas that were experienced due to the Shapiro visit?

Guess these tards aren't big on freedom of speech. Looks like Pantsuit voters.

What's the over/under on how many weeks these douche-biscuits have gone without a shower?

Berkeley Police release mugshots of Ben Shapiro protesters | Fox News

Berkeley Police released the mugshots and identification of five of the nine people arrested Thursday night protesting at the University of California, Berkeley during an appearance by conservative speaker Ben Shapiro.

Four of the five people identified were arrested for carrying a "banned weapon."

Sarah Roark, 44, of San Francisco, Michael Paul Sullivan, 29, of Hayward and Eddy Robinson, 44, of Oakland, were all arrested for carrying a banned weapon.

Hannah Benjamin, 20, of Fremont, was also arrested for carrying a banned weapon but she was accused of battery on a police officer, too. Kerem Celik, 18, of Saratoga, was arrested for “disturbing the peace.”

It was not immediately clear what weapons the protesters were accused of carrying, nor was it known if any were members of Antifa. Weapons seized in the past from Antifa extremists have included bricks, hammers, bats, knives, scissors and chains.

A picture was circulating on Twitter purporting to show Roark photographed with Hillary Clinton. In the alleged photo of Roark, the woman is wearing a pin from Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. It was not clear at what event the picture was taken or how Roark allegedly came to meet the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee.

It was not immediately clear if those arrested were still in custody. Calls to police were not immediately returned.

UC Berkeley spokesman Dan Mogulof said security measures for the event may have cost $600,000. Mogulof called the speech “a successful event” and said the university was interested in hosting speakers similar to Shapiro, a former Breitbart.com editor, in the future.

Shapiro retweeted the mugshots of those arrested and wrote: “A lineup of life’s winners.”

UC Berkeley had expected protests ahead of Shapiro’s speech. The officers were allowed to be armed with pepper spray at the protest -- the first time in two decades officers could carry the spray.

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, author Milo Yiannopoulos and conservative commentator Ann Coulter are also slated to speak on the campus in the coming weeks.

Yiannopoulos was set to appear at the campus in February, but his event was canceled after protests turned violent. Protesters smashed windows of businesses and marred walls with graffiti.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
