Yes, they broke the rule, but the issue here isn't abou tthat, it's about the fact that the rule existed in the first place and who thought that taking educational opportunites away from our children because the school made a mistake is a good idea. Apparently, you and the rest of the knee jerk liberals here who think that anything a Dem. led gov't does is beyond approach. You're actually backing HARMING these kids education to support a bad law.
I don't agree that it's a 'bad law', and since when does nutritional education fall into a 'non-educational' category?

I would love it if every parent was educated regarding, and dedicated to, good nutrition where their children's diets are concerned, but that's not reality.

Too many parents today have no more idea of what constitutes good nutrition than they do good grammar. If the schools don't take up the slack, who will?

As to 'harming the children', would you care to give us a list of other laws the schools should be allowed to ignore without fear of repercussions based on the claim that suffering those repercussions will 'harm' the children?

That's a pretty nifty 'out'. "Yes officer, I'm driving drunk, speeding and my kids aren't wearing their seat belts, but if you give me a ticket I'll have to pay the fine out of the grocery money and that will 'harm my kids', so you'll just have to let me off."!

BTW, you need to watch that knee jerk right wing attitude that Democrats will support anything their party does.

It's not true and it makes you appear ignorant.

Orange or green veggies are a good source of iron. Just fyi.
Actually, I think that I'd rather die now, than spend another 20 or 30 years grazing to survive.

I have few pleasures in Life. I consider hope to be a mental and spiritual poison. I have no children, no wife no close relative within 3000 miles. Most of my social activity is posting here.

And I'll be da**ed if there aren't people who want me to feel rotten about enjoying a good pizza.

Lol.

Pizza can actually be a healthy meal.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a junk food binge every now and then. The problem arises when junk food/bad food constitutes the majority of the diet.

The biggest problem with food that is bad for us, is that it tastes so damned good!

My mother in law would have deep fried iced tea if she could have figured out how. My husband had his first angioplasty at thirty six. He had a half a dozen after that, a bypass and heart valve replacement two years ago, and a stroke a couple of months ago.

Aside from the 'snacks' he makes himself when I'm not looking, he's been on a healthy diet since we got married thirty four years ago. Unfortunately, the damage was already done.

Just keep ignoring the part where the KIDS paid the price for this. They lost $15,000 from their arts program. But this isn't about the kids, it's about the unwavering support for the nanny state that liberals MUST have - even it means that the it's very people you CLAIM to be protecting that pay the price.

You sarcastically say "Oh the humanity!" at a school having to give up $15K to the government but don't say "Oh the humanity!", when students are doing something so cataclysmic as having a soda after lunch?...

It's about the gov't making rules that are supposed to help the kids but end up harming them. But that little fact will never, ever sink into your brain, since it conflicts with your "nanny state is wonderful" mentality.

Not wanting government involved in our lives at all is ridiculous.

I don't have to. Legions of busybodies are telling them that.
